I admit I'm totally biased because we live nearby in Vence and feel blessed to have a Michelin star restaurant on our doorstep. I'd just like to be able to afford to go more frequently.
Christophe Dufau is always inventing and experimenting so you definitely won't find the same menu for 25 years like you do in Colombe d'Or Saint Paul de Vence for example. Not even 25 days!
I love how Les Bacchanals juxtaposes the beautiful artwork and sculptor with their exquisite food. It's like eating in a cosy gallery. Al fresco is a real treat, they have a lovely wild garden they've cultivated. Make sure you use their car park because a friend got a hefty ticket for parking on the main road near Matisse chapel. The entrance is on the road below, it's very easy to miss it!

Had an amazing braised lamb shank here a few months ago and I'm STILL thinking about it. We sat in the little courtyard outside the restaurant and enjoyed the musicians, cats and even a little domestic "debate" in one of the overlooking flats. Wonderful little spot, and leave some extra time to wander the the little charming town.

After an absence of 2 years from Vence, we returned to find things little changed. La Farigoule, for example, is as glorious as ever. Beautiful weather means that dinner in the pretty courtyard at the rear is sheer delight. Front of house, the owner and staff are totally charming and the chef proprietor in the kitchen produces delicious, imaginative food. I'm sure another return visit this evening will fully justify my view that this is by far the best restaurant in Vence and its environs.

Truly the work of an artist, La Cassoulette's dishes were beautiful in concept, taste,
and visual pleasure. An Amuse Bouche of carrot purée and whipped cream was a delightful surprise. An entree of grenouilles were fresh and tiny, a pile in a green parsley creme 'pond' that was both an experience and a taste sensation. We also had grilled calamari and risotto that was a perfect dream of flavors. Pure pleasure of ambience, charm, simplicity of decor and genuine warmth. Cannot recommend it more highly.

« Agapes », feminine plural noun: "feast among friends"Les Agapes is first and for most a kid's dream, Jean-Philippe Douroux's dream. With a cooking and pastry training background, he makes his dream come true at 28 years old, becoming chef of his own restaurant. Located in Vence (France), in the heart of the historical city, is where this passionate about cooking has settled. In his plates, a subtle mix of tradition and innovation. From the appetizer to the dessert, here no dishes are served without quality products, fresh and seasonal. On the menu: two varied and inventive menus but the chef also offers a board with more choices, inspired by the daily market products.Good... and beautiful, Jean-Philippe's dishes present on a platter the pleasure of taste buds but also pleasure for the eyes. In the winter, it is a « cocooning » ambiance: meet up on the first floor in a cosy dining room for 30 guests. Intimate ambiance guaranteed, in a beautiful, chic, sober and inspired setting. In the summer? Gather on the sunny Terrace filled with flowers for 40 guests. A relaxing break...inevitably gourmet, at the heart of a charming pedestrian area. Great outing idea: during the festival « Les nuits du Sud » (the southern nights), the chef offers a tasty stop with a special menu, preceding the Concerts.Whether in the dining room or the kitchen, Les Agapes also means a dynamic and strong team, linked by work well done and a warm welcome. Welcome home!
We enjoyed an excellent dinner from the 29 euro menu. I had a cross between ratatouille and gazpacho to start which was delicious followed by sea bream while my husband had an unusual take on a spring roll followed by Guinea fowl. All the food both looked and tasted beautiful. We would certainly eat there again on another trip to Vence.

These extraordinary buckwheat crepes fill a whole plate folded over a delicious filling. With a pitcher of dry cider, and a green salad on the side, it's a filling and totally satisfying meal. Casual and charming. Go for the Normande.....garlic cream & mushrooms
above an inner layer of jamon and fromage.

We provide a twist of fench mediterraneen and thai food prepared from fresh items cooked "a la minute" in a charming provencale historique city
Les Lavandes is the only restaurant we chose to eat in twice during our week in Vence and that's mainly because we feel the food is better than the rest! Service is a bit slow during the 7.30 to 8.30pm rush but the food is worth the wait. The Asian dishes make a nice change from the more standard menus? It's worth booking in advance as those walking past hoping to get a table were usually unlucky.recommended.

It was great to find a restaurant that caters for many types of specialist diet, especially in France where they can be a bit snobby about veggie/other diet requests. .. (don't get upset, you know it's true)
The waiter/owner was very friendly and the food was great.

We arrived in Vence and found this, maybe not so hidden, but clearly a gem.
Service is attentive, food well prepared and homecooked. The overall setting was simply great.
We had Salade Chevre Chaud, Ravioli with beef and penne with salmon. All was simply good and cooked well.
Try the desserts, all looked well, when we glimpsed to the other tables, we had profiterolles, fondant au Chocolat and fresh raspberries with creme Chantilly. Simply great
we would visit this place again

An Indian Restaurant of Tandoori and Curry specialities, in the heart of Vence we warmly open you the doors of India.
Very surprised to stumble across an excellent Indian restaurant in South of France. Food clearly properly and thoughtfully prepared on the premises per order. Proprietor is from Sri Lanka, but food mainstream Indian. Good selection of tasty full flavor dishes. I would avoid if you want to get close to someone later on who has eaten with you as loads of garlic. Friendly and attentive staff. I will return and would have no hesitation recommending.
