The food was presented in a very attractive way and tasted fabulous. It was nice not to be given just vegetables and cheese or an egg as is so often the case

We visited Vals back on October 28 and 29 2010. The night of the 29th we ate at La Cucina. The service, the food and wine was excellent. I loved the bread and cheese table. The atmosphere was very comforting. We loved our meals. The presentation of the dishes were so picturesque we didn't want to eat the entree but hunger overpowered the thought. We left quite satisfied!!

large variety for dinner (less variety for lunch) of regional (their "capuns" are very good) and swiss food of acceptable quality with friendly staff
average cost per person (starter, main course, dessert, drink but no wine) around 40 sfr, average for the area
the restaurant is comfortable, wooden walls, floor and ceilling without views. the summer Terrace looks nice and with views. the bar is a smoking place where meals are also served with a view to the Mountains

Traditional Swiss. Fondue great. Wine excellent. Sled back to Vals in the Winter!! Unique unique. Dress warmly, because you are in the Mountains....

Wonderful experience. The Käse Pizokel had a really good combination of sauce, ingredients and size. The Entrecôte Café de Paris was served at the right temperature, on a hot stone serving. I like mine rare and it's very hard to find a place that understands what rare means! The sauce is delicious and I had to ask for more to finish my fries. So far it was just perfect until you have to decide for the dessert, I went for the walnut cake with vanilla ice cream and it was a big portion and really good one if the best I've had so far in Vals. Seriously recommended!

Just had lunch there. I had a superb pizza speck, to die for, hot, meaty and crunchy. My wife had a cordon Bleu stuffed pork. With white wine, and the nussetort. The latter sweet and nutty.
I would recommend this place not least because smokers must go outside, sparing those inside their faggy smoke.

Every Saturday, the restaurant has a special, which I would like to highly recommend! Besides great buffets for starter and dessert, you have a huge choice of vegetables, meat, sides and sauces, which you put yourself together and let be cooked in front of your eyes - if lucky even directly by the owner who loves to talk with you and tell you stories about the place! And for all of this: as much as you can eat & drink!
