La Marmite Mauricienne very quickly became the way we ended every day on the beach. The staff are fantastic and friendly, atmosphere is quaint local beach bar/restaurant, and the cocktail menu is vast and prices are great compared to similar spots.
We did enjoy one meal in the restaurant, which was pretty good Mauritian fare, very well priced and ended with a superb creme brûlée!
The drawcard for La Marmite Mauricianne however was a post sunset cocktail (or three) some fantastic cheese samosas in a chilled friendly atmosphere that was always busy even at the start of the season!
Highly recommend a visit to this local gem run by great people.

We had a fixed menu, which was wonderful. It is mainly including fish and shellfish, and we really enjoyed. Wine was also good. Service excellent, and they served a simple pasta for our youngest son, which was nice.
The ambiance is quite exclusive and beautiful in a colonial way. There is a sofa/lounge area where you can enjoy your coffee (or play i-pad) which makes the ambiance feel a bit like home.
The only downside is the price, which is of course very high for this type of restaurant.

Restaurant offers very good, fresh, tasty food. Dishes are nicely served by very kind staff.
Restaurant used to be quite busy especially in the evening but reservation was not necessary - hospitable personnel was always able to arrange table or to advise about time necessary to wait.
We can definitely recomnend this restaurant and will come back while visiting Trou aux Biches.

L'Assiette du Nord is the oldest, re-known restaurant in Trou Aux Biches. We offer a variety of excellent Mauritian and Chinese dishes. Our live sega and one-man shows are the most favorite among our customers. When dinning at L'Assiette du Nord you are sure to enjoy the famous Mauritian hospitality as well as delicious food!So come and rejoice of our delicious food, soothing atmosphere and warm staff.
At dinner, it took them 5 minutes to produce a menu and 20 minutes to take the order. We then waited 45 minutes and even the drinks weren't brought out. After more that an hour sitting, we left. What an odd experience.

Vous pouvez aussi emporter a la maison les pizzas (de la taille que vous préférez) , les pâtes etc.C'est un petit restaurant idéale pour les repas en famille avec l’énorme pizza famille pour 4 personnes! I have been passing this place for quite some time now and always wanted to try it out. Well, I finally did for a quick lunch and I left as a very happy customer. It's a small place with limited selection but all the foods are prepared with lots of dedication and skill. It's very much delicate home cooking and a nice change from all the other restaurants in the area.... for once i left a restaurant on the island without feeling bloated and full.
Next will try breakfast ....

We ate here on our first night in Trou aux Biches. We explained to the owner that we were vegetarians and that we wanted a curry and she suggested that we just trust the chef to make us something. So that's what we did. Our food came very promptly and it was lovely. We only had one course but the price was very reasonable. Service was prompt and friendly and I'd happily eat here again.

Staff were so kind and very friendly.
Prices are so much fair and affordable.
Value for money is way high comparing to other nearby restaurants.
