Troncones is a relatively undeveloped, uncrowded beach village located about 20 miles (32 km) north west of Zihuatanejo on the coast of the state of Guerrero. It is located in the municipality of La Unión de Isidoro Montes de Oca and has a population of about 593 people (2005 census). Hammocks and palm trees are in most yards, chickens roam the streets and loud nightlife is limited to very few weekly events, making for quiet nights. Some local hotels and restaurants offer special events such as Movie Nights and Dance Parties, mostly during the Oct-May high season. On Sundays, El Burro Boracho has shows of Mexican folkdance.

We loved this gem on the water. Our server Willie recommended the Hawaiian Tacos--they were a total departure from the local fare but amazing! Deep fried shrimp, pineapple and cheese served egg roll style with a yummy soy dipping sauce. Also recommend the lobster a la mojo de ajo--deep fried with garlic. It's right on the beach so you can wash up in the ocean after!

The best cafe/sports bar in Troncones. Christian the owner is a master bread baker. The food is terrific ranging from bar snacks to full service.

We've been to Troncones for three Februaries in a row now and dined at roughly 20 local eating establishments and have come to the realization that Chencho and Family restaurant is the place we enjoy eating at the most. The authentic Mexican cuisine is prepared by Chencho;s spouse in the kitchen with help of others while the patriarch serves guests and helps them make dinner choices from a very expansive bilingual menu. The beer is cold and the food is piping hot and while the decor of painted concrete and plastic tables is a little on the barren side, everything is clean. Great value and a dependably enjoyable night out. Be sure to try the tortilla soup, chiles rellenos and coconut shrimp.

How would you like to spend over 40 US dollars for lunch???? After the meal how would you like the waiter to ask for 100 more pesos because the cashier could not count the bills properly ????
In my opinion this restaurant is highly overrated. Their beer prices are 35 pesos per bottle which is the highest price in the ZIH region. The petite Piña Colada will set you back 80 pesos. My wife was very disappointed with the Coconut Shrimp priced at 285 pesos
The view is outstanding but does not offset the pricing versus quality disparity

I've lived in Mexico for over 2 years now and have been hankering for a good burger for a long time. Well, Orbe's delivers the goods! Terrific cheeseburger served with mushrooms and onions. 2die4! Tuesday nights are ribs night and the place is always packed. Good bang for the buck!

Out door dining on the ocean. Martha's has been serving Majahua for over 20 years. Fresh seafood daily caught right beside the restaurant. Come as you are and enjoy the great atmosphere!
Doña Martha is one of many beach restaurants on Playa Majahua, on the north end of the Troncones beach area. To reach Majahua, travel north on Hwy 200 about 20 minutes, take the Troncones exit, follow the main road & turn right when you hit the beach road. Continue north, the paved road will become a dirt road. Eventually the road will turn to the right, and a cluster of homes & buildings will appear. Look for the Doña Martha sign -- turn left down their narrow driveway, there's a small parking area. A few steps toward the beach and you'll be there! Their staff are courteous & prompt with service, the food was very good. We had guacamole, tortillas with rice & beans, and a big plate of ceviche which was delicious. You can bring your own beer to these venues, altho at 18 or 20 pesos per cerveza, you won't save much bringing your own. The food prices are very reasonable and the beach area is shallow -- great for small kids or anyone who is a bit timid in the ocean. There are rocky reefs if you bring a snorkel & mask. Further along the beach the waves get larger, a lot of fun if you bring a boogie board too. Enjoy Majahua!

Majahua Palms offers a fusion of Mexican and international food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner may be the few times our guests encounter each other due to the many possibilities the resort and the region offer. Healthy food, cooked with authentic and fresh products, the catch of the day and the best fruits make up a menu that truly leaves no one unsatisfied. Our lush green setting with the ocean as a background makes breakfast, lunch or dinner an experience to remember. Our Waitstaff and creative bar staff will satisfy your needs with a full assortment of fine wines, liquors and beer. If it's a poolside snack, a perfect pina colada or an unforgettable dinner you desire, Majahua Palms' restaurant is your perfect choice.
The Majahua Palms resort is a beautiful and outstanding place in general. The restaurant is no different. The management and their staff are simply excellent. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner are all done very well. The wait staff are courteous and fun. The kitchen staff really put out some great food! The fish is fresh, tasty and is prepared in a variety of ways to make you happy. Their tortilla soup is the best I’ve ever had. My husband doesn’t eat seafood and finds a lot of beef options and says the beef is very tender and tasty. The staff is very accommodating in building new creations based on your requests. We’ve stayed at the resort for 10 nights and only ate 1 dinner out since their food was so good and reasonably priced. The restaurant is all open aired in a lovely building with wonderful views of the property, pool and sea. They have a fun bar area with a pool table too.
