Silky beaches, coconut palms, and designer boutique hotels are mainstays of Trancoso's casual chic vibe. Candy-colored clay houses line the streets and squares, lending a bohemian vibe to this otherwise rustic destination. The world-famous beaches boast velvety white sands and natural pools created by coral reefs.

Villas de Trancoso Restaurant. Located on Nativos Beach, one of the most private stretches of beach in Trancoso, is the Villas de Trancoso Restaurant. Outside guests can make a reservation for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The Villa's day begins at 8:00 am with our famous Brazilian breakfast... hot steaming Brazilian coffee, seasonal tropical fruits and juices, baked breads, cheeses, pastries and omelets of your choosing. At 10:00 am our beach bar comes to life. Guests are welcome to lounge under shaded palms while sipping their favorite Brazilian cocktail. At 12:00 our restaurant opens. Our chef may have a special for the day or you can choose from a wide selection of International and Brazilian favorites.
What a gem of an experience to spend the afternoon. Beautiful view, awesome beach, comfortable setting, combined with excellent food/service. I liked being able to eat either at the restaurant or right on the water. Come for lunch, then lounge all afternoon at the beach.

We went to Capim Santo restaurant and everything was very good!
My wife and daughter had shrimp with salad and I took the lobster in a pinaple w/ potatoes. It was delicious!
The only thing that didnt help with digestion, was the road to get to and out of the restaurant... it was 20mins each way from Club Med, shaking like a heavy metal head banger...!!!
Its incredible how the authorities dont take care of what in the end help the city to generate revenues! If we don't come back, its going to be on the road...

Gelateria do Beco is the perfect place to chill and devour delicious gelato. It is located on a beautiful quaint "street" where you can sit outside on the wall and savor the delicious ice cream and ambiance of Trancoso.
I particularly love the sorbetttos made from all the delicious fruits from Bahia. The capim santo with lemon is so refreshing. The chocolate made from Bahian cacao is also delicious.
The Italian owner is super fun and plays the best music.
Perfect place to visit late afternoon or at night after dinner.

We had dinner at cacau, the food was ok, very expensive. The service was good. Personally I do not intend to return, because I prefer other prestaurants around.

Silvana has one of the greatest atmospheres in the Quadrado, great sofa chairs and intimate lighting. The Baiao de Dois was perfect and we couldn't stop having the caipirinhas with awesome fruits combination, the best was mango with lemon, a must! The service is friendly without being intrusive.

Come and meet the locals and meet the wonderful owner and staff who run this place. Very fresh cervice and fish stews etc all cooked Peruvian style through the open kitchen.
Very local cooking, local ambience away from the Quadrado.
Good pricing, well worth walking the few extra meters from the main action areas.

There are three local women who run these street food stalls most days from 3pm until late, at the entrance to Trancoso's lovely Quadrado opposite to the church of Sao Joao Batista. They serve a typical Bahian dish of tapioca flour fried until it resembles a pancake (but without flour, egg or milk), then filled with a variety of lovely things. Savoury options include carne seca (sun-dried beef), cheese, aubergine purée and green herbs. Sweet versions include fried banana, cinnamon and condensed milk or Nutella. These are all prepared to an excellent standard of hygiene, are excellent value and should not be missed during any visit to Trancoso. I loved every version I tried!

Well, I have to say that this restaurant is quite representative of many others in Trancoso: you pay more for the nice atmosphere than for the quality of the food. It is not bad, no, it's nice, but not outstanding at all and the the prices are that of a very good restaurant in Europe. I mean when you charge 20 to 30 euros per dish, you should be sure about the quality you are offering. And the quality here, let's say, is just "not bad" but nothing more.

UXUA's kitchens offer Bahian cooking with a very regional emphasis, and presented with the same joy and pride which food is served in any local home. Ingredients include produce from UXUA's own garden and other organic farms of Trancoso, as well as the freshest fish caught using traditional techniques.

They have really great thin crusted pizzas here, more expensive than that in Italy. My BOBO de Cameraos local dish came with abnormally tiny tiny shrimps. It wasn't what I expected and the waiter didn't warn me even after I showed him a picture of the dish before hand. The price for the dish was outrageously expensive, 40 + euros for a pot shared by 2.
