This place seems popular with Japanese which we thought was a good sign. Also it was on the second floor of a busy fish market, and there was a queue to get in.
There are English menus available. Although most diners seemed to be enjoying themselves on crab, we had already gorged ourselves on the crustaceans at dinner in our ryokan the night before so we opted for some catch of the day tempura and sashimi instead.
The tempura had a generous portion of seafood. Only one vegetable! The sashimi was all right, not the freshest or best I've had by far.
Staff could converse in English.

『The sound of eating and drinking to your heart's content』 Come, eat and drink to your heart's content. There is a wide range of dishes on our menu from salmon and tomato appetizers to brand name beef steaks. Much of our ingredients come fresh from local farmers and near by fishing ports. Looking to quench your thirst? Try one of the four locally brewed original beers on tap. Our weizen, stout, crab, and pilsner are all made from 100% malt at our own brewery.
While walking around Kinosaki Onsen, we saw Gubigabu and decided to stop to get a bite to eat for brunch. The staff was very friendly, and I do believe they had an English menu available for those so inclined. We ordered a cheese platter to start with and it was pretty mediocre. For our entree we decided on some banana hotcakes that were very delicious!
I was told by the locals this place is known more for its evening meals and beer, so if you're in the area check it out! For information about our trip to Kinosaki Onsen check out our blog at pagesoftravel. wordpress. com!

This is not a normal sit & eat restaurant. Basically its a cafe which serves good gelato and beverages. The high point is that one can buy eggs in nylon nets which are then placed in near boiling natural spring water and then devoured!! One may have practiced this in many hot springs. We have done it in Iceland. But, the arrangements and the ease with which one can go about doing it at this cafe is awesome. One even has a timer attached to the hot-spring tub to time the eggs as per liking. Then there's the egg-cracker, which frankly speaking a new equipment I came across, which opens only top of the egg shell and thereafter one can then use a spoon! Do not forget a gelato after the eggs!

Orizuru in Kinosaki onsen adds to an already delightful tourist location that does not rely solely on the 7 public baths, but also a fabulous sushi restaurant!
The chef owner and his son run a relaxed but meticulously organised ship, and the fish is divinely fresh. We ordered a selection of sashimi, 2 signature platters of sushi, a side dish of tempura, and then followed the gregarious locals in ordering a dish of flamed oysters with a squirt of lemon. The quality of all the local fish was excellent and the knife skills of the chef top class, we were also treated to the local tajima beef nigiri which melted in the mouth as expected.
To be honest if we had time i would have spent the day there and we were treated like regulars from the beginning, i could not recommend it more highly.

Ate twice there. The tempura don was superb. The prawn were freshly deep fried. The flour consistency was just right.
