Tochni (Greek: Τόχνη; Turkish: Dohni or Taşkent) is a village located in the Larnaca District of Cyprus, about halfway between the cities of Larnaca and Limassol. Prior to 1974, Tochni had a mixed Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot population. In August 1974, 85 Turkish Cypriot inhabitants of this village and of neighboring villages were massacred by Greek Cypriot militias.

Excellent Service, and Fresh Fish I highly recommend this fish tavern for the excellent service, and good quality of anything. The owner of the tavern is an open-hearted lady who was coming every now and then to ask if the food is tasty. This means that she cares for her customers. The price was normal. We had both fried and grilled fish, squid, and octopus marinated in red wine – a Cypriot recipe. A dish of eggs and wild asparagus is a real treat - Cypriot traditional dish never to be forgotten. Everything was fresh and the green salad from the garden.
Visited this restaurant several times, both in the Summer and Winter - always welcomed by a friendly smile. Food is freshly cooked - there isn't a menu but if the chef (the priest's son) is not around then the priest's wife will take you into the kitchen to show what is available at the time. Their homemade chips are the best, sprinkled with a little oregano. Village salad also the best in Cyprus, served with a gererous helping of feta and coriander.
They have a special fish and chip lunch served Monday-Friday at only €6.50 per person which is excellent. A half carafe of decent house wine will only set you back €5.
Good for kids as there is a little playground and swimming pool to keep them amused during the warmer months. Also used for outside catering - a nice venue.
Thoroughly recommended.

We visited this restaurant between the Harbour and Beach in Zygi several times whilst on holiday. Whilst it was out of season and the restaurant was quiet we couldn't have asked more from the staff who were attentive, friendly and generous. The food was exceptional with a choice of fresh fish including, red mullet, sea bream and sea bass. The fish meze just kept on coming with 4 platters in all. Octopus, cuttlefish, king prawns, calamari, mussels and fried crab claws all featured amoungst others. When we visit Cyprus again we will be back.

Nice place next to the sea, but that’s all. Good quality and service. We had meze. The quantity less than other similar places and the price higher. 22 euros per person. The price in other similar fish tavern is 18-20 euros.
Reading the menu, I noticed that the prices of the other items also are rather higher than the average.

I was there for work and local collegues drive us to that tavern. the Tavern is on seaside, really relaxing view. there is an outside area arranged as childs playground and a dedicate parking area. The Taverna is big, with a lot of tables available inside and outside. We were told that on weekend the place is really crowded and reservation is needed. This because the fish dishes are really good and well cooked, the fish is always fresh and the waitresses are really kind. English is spoken. Leave them drive you on the menu, or just let them bring you something

Was looking for an alternative to the Captains table.
One Sunday saw Koumbaris Restaurant full of customers so thought why not try it.
Was not disappointed.
We ordered the usual mixed starters of Tahini, Taramosalata, Greek salad which was really nice with a huge portion of feta cheese.
I mostly judge a restaurant with is serving of bread. They certainly had a very good village bread cut into real man size pieces.
Excellent so far.
What surprised us was that with the main course you could order mixed dishes.
For example we ordered a half portion fresh calamari and half octopus.
Very good idea.
We also order the sea bream and red mallet.
All cooked very nice.
And very well priced.
My only complaint would be that the whole make was cooked very quickly and all dishes came the same time.
This was more our fault as next time will ask for them in stages.
I would recommend a nice bottle of Symposium white wine.
Staff were attentive and polite.
Well done Koumbaris.
See you soon.

Visited on a blowy day but the food served took away any thoughts of the weather. Not the cheapest meal you can get by any imagination but Staff were pretty attentive. Best calamari I have had. No hint of chew just melt in the mouth. I do actually think I got the wrong entree. Asked for my tiger prawns with the garlic inspired sauce but it was more like the honey that I got. Thing is it tasted so good I couldn't be bothered to complain and just continued to eat. The only thing I could really fault was, as so many restaurants provide, that 'mystery drink' at the end of the meal. Just as well I asked what it was because it turned out to be some kind of kiwi fruit concoction .... a fruit that I am highly allergic to. My beautiful meal could have all ended up in tears, hospital or even worse. I will not let that spoil my memory of a very nice meal and it is, after all, up to the sufferer to make sure they make it clear if they have an allergy. Will visit again for sure.

If looking for good food try Retro. In addition to Greek Cypriot cuisine they also do specials. The sea bass fillet in champagne source is fantastic, served with chips sprinkled with herbs and salad garnish. Also try Cyprus sweets which are fruits in syrup.
The son of the proprietor who is a chef has recently joined the restaurant and his food is very professional. Good ambience and friendly staff.

Stayed with them and landed about 2am, the service was brilliant they were more than helpful, went for a meal in restaurant and there was a woman working there who I have to say was very unhelpful never even asked us was or food ok and when we went to pay we wanted to use the last of our coins and she said she couldn't take them as she has loads of coins in till, very disappointed with her service although we went back the next next as the food was delicious and was a different girl working and she was great. All round great place and would recommend it to anyone

Great village feel as you drive up, easy to find. Staff are friendly and accommodating, lots of variations of pizza and a variety of starters including seafood.
I had the garlic prawns, baked in the oven. Just incredible really delicious full of flavor not over powered in any way. You can taste the freshness in this simple but we'll executed dish.
Garlic bread was also the best over ever had. The garlic butter served separate to the warm bread just delicious.
Now for the pizza. Tastes even better than it looks. OMG took me to cloud nine. Great variety will be back to have another one before I leave. Best pizza I've had in a long time.
Highly highly recommended. It really is that good :)
