Teruel (Spanish pronunciation: [teˈɾwel]) is a city in Aragon, located in eastern Spain, and is also the capital of Teruel Province. It has a population of 35,675 in 2014 making it the least populated provincial capital in the country. It is noted for its harsh climate, with a very big daily variation on temperatures and its renowned jamón serrano (cured ham), its pottery, its surrounding archaeological sites, rock outcrops containing some of the oldest dinosaur remains of the Iberian Peninsula, and its famous events: La Vaquilla del Ángel during the weekend closer more to the 10th July (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday), and "Bodas de Isabel de Segura" around the third weekend of February.

A pleasant welcome always starts an evening off well and that's what we got. Decoration is pleasant and tables well dressed. A little too much light for my liking. Menu is not extensive but is varied and the quality of the produce very good. The wine list is also quite small, but we found something we liked. Unfortunately the restaurant only opens at 9pm for dinner and for us, even though my wife is Spanish, after a day of sightseeing we'd prefer to be able to at least have a drink a little earlier. Although one of the main squares is around the corner and so we went there. We'd go back

Walking along Teruel's Paseo del Ovalo, near our hotel, we noted the Menu del Dia outside this restaurant by the same name. We were seated in the center of about 25 white clothed tables with a large crusty round roll at each place setting. The 3 course 12.5 E menu included mineral water and a full bottle of Vina Oria. For 1st, I choose Garlic Soup and my wife the Teruel Ham. For 2nd, we both enjoyed the double duck drumsticks with cherry sauce and peach half, then finally we had rice pudding and Panna Cotta.
With nearly full tables all around, we noted the attentive service, the beautiful setting, and excellent quality food.

Having been thwarted in our attempt to go to another restaurant in Teruel we were delighted to discover Yain with its discreet decor, friendly service and outstanding food. Try the blinis de anchoa, croqueta de cabrales and the steak tartar or solomillo de ternera. You won't be disappointed. Add to this delightful service and a bottle of Finca Resalso and it made for a very enjoyable night.

A pleasant, discreet and centric place of meeting where you can enjoy good products from Teruel, cooked to order with lots of love.
This was recommended by the owner of the property we stayed in, though we checked out a number of other places before deciding on this one. We were the only diners on a chilly Wednesday evening in April and were made to feel very welcome....MoreThank you very much for your opinion. We like our customers to be satisfied, it is our reason for being.

Dear clients, the Restaurant will be closed for holidays from January 12, 2017 until February 9, 2017.

Sorry for the inconvenience!
A really friendly restaurant, excellent food, wines, a very good ambiance and value for money. Having tried to book for a couple of days we nearly gave up. Apparently the owner's partner was in hospital and she was doing almost everything. The restaurant cooks on an open fire and all the dishes we had were delicious. The meat is extremely good, but so was everything else. Highly recommended and we will go again. Booking essential.

After being turned away at La Bella Neda Asador de Lena without a reservation, I wandered around town looking for a place to eat lunch. I was really set on trying local specialties, and I came across Restaurante Venecia which had their menú del día posted outside. I decided to go for it, even if it wasn't ranked highly, because I was hungry, and the menú looked appetizing. It was packed with people, and at 2:45 they quoted a wait of about 30-40 minutes for a table of one. But they let me sit at the bar and eat my lunch there, and once seated, all of the courses came promptly one after another (a rarity in Spain it seems!).
The menú had about 5-7 choices for each course. For my first course, I selected braised thistle with jamón from Teruel. I had never had thistle before, but I read it was common in Aragon. Delicious! This was followed by medallions of white Teruel pork with foie sauce. I usually don't choose anything with foie, but I really wanted to have the pork which Teruel is famous for, and didn't feel like the braised pork with black truffle also from the region. This was also flavorful and tender. Finally, I tried the trenza, which is a local pastry. It was rather cold and firm, and was good just to say I tried it (wasn't my favorite part of the meal). Included in €15 is bread and water or wine.
I would definitely go back here the next time I come to Teruel, because it offers a true sit-down meal at a great price, using local ingredients so you get a real sense of the place. No fajitas or Asian fusion here!

Our hotel staff recommended this place. We were almost first guest to arrive when they opened. They quickly filled up on a week night with locals. I am not a big fan of bar chairs with no backs so we took chairs at table. The staff working were very friendly, even with being super busy. Wine we ordered was good. Just a suggestion if you have something you don't like, like squid/seafood. Ask the staff when ordering the tapas available. Our Spanish is not that great, but the young man working seemed to speak fairly well English. If ordering several tapas I would order one at a time. As they re-heat items in microwave. My husband ordered us each four. For my liking items towards end were cold and not as tasty.

We went there because it was recommended by d hotel receptionist. Besides d bar there's a restaurant upstairs. We chose to sit there. The waiter who served us spoke very limited English but he brought us some really yummy tapas. We liked everything that we tried. It was a lovely meal.

We found this place while wandering trying to find our hostal or wifi. They had Wi-Fi so we went in and had a couple of beers. The prices were good, the bartender gave us a bowl of honey roasted nuts with each round which was nice. It was a cozy, friendly atmosphere and basic decor. Did not try the food but we were tempted by the self-proclaimed giant burgers. It has a few Terrace tables outside. Overall a good place for a quick beer
