Enclosed by ramparts, Taroudant is the epitome of a Moroccan market town. Engage in friendly bargaining at a souk in one of the two main squares, then revive your spirit with a soak at an authentic hammam steam bath. Take a day trip to the refreshing Tioute Oasis, birdwatch at Souss Massa National Park, or enjoy an evening of Berber folk music under the stars.

Its amazing to find this hidden gem right in Taroudant centre. Its like entering into a different world.
The food , especially the salads were very abundant and tasted so well. But the same is true for the Tajine and the pastry dessert.
Make sure to book a few hours in advance

Set on the edge of the busiest part of town it was a great place to 'people watch'. A limited menu prepared & presented well, at prices that will suit the most modest of budgets is Yasmina's strenght. Couscous, grilled Turkey skewers, Tagine etc. Good portions, good coffee & beautiful juices freshly squeezed. Polite, efficient service. We ate there twice, our first visit being so pleasant. When it came to paying the bill, the menu was re-presented so we could check that all was above board. Nice touch. Starter, main, juice, coffee by two came to a staggering €8 in total (not including a very well deserved tip.) And for the cynical among us; the answer is no, no bad after effects in the digestion department! No Michelin stars but highly recommended.

Dar Zitoune propose a blend of European and Moroccan dishes. Lunch is a menu à la carte, as far as dinner is concerned its a set menu with vegetarian options. The finest food to be found in the entire region. The meals are served in the dinning room , priavte Terrace , Bar Lounge or by swiming pool. All the products, fruits and salads are organic and grown in our orchard.
We stayed in the hotel for nearly two weeks over Christmas and the New Year and ate in all the time, after all this is the best hotel and restaurant in Taroudant. The meals were consistently good and there were special dinners on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The beef on the New Year dinner was as good as I have had anywhere. There was also excellent entertainment and a great party spirit.
The staff are efficient and helpful, always ready to explain the food on offer. The style of cooking is basically French with a touch of local influence.
If you are staying at the hotel eat in. If you are staying elsewhere give it a try you will not be disappointed.

We had a late lunch at Chez Nada and found the food along with the ambiance to be below average. Although my wife and I were advised that this restaurant was the best and only place to eat, the salad and tagine were nothing remarkable. Too bad because there are a number of tourists who visit Taroudant and the city needs a decent place to eat.

The Jnane Soussia Restaurant is located just outside the old city walls of Taroudant, surrounded by a semi-oasis. This is a very relaxed atmosphere restaurant that seems to be very traditional Moroccan styled. The restaurant is surround by an abundance of landscaping including date palms, many fruit trees, etc. There are two nice pools in the center of the open Terrace. Plus there are two old “tent” looking dining areas which seem to be very artistic; authentic and very pleasing to the eye.
There food is good, very authentic Moroccan in taste and flavor. Too much cuscus for my pallet. The service is good. Being this is a restaurant and not connected to a hotel they are not allowed to serve alcohol or alcoholic beverages.
All-in-all it was a very pleasant afternoon lunch.

Great place to avoid the hustle and bustle of Taroudant. Hotel has a rebounded reputation and whilst I have not stayed there we visited for lunch which was superb. Efficient waiter service which perhaps could do with a bit more of a smile? A beautiful place with some lovely period pieces of furniture. The grounds are delightful , particularly the rise garden- the smell is amazing ! - who don't roses smell any more in England ??- certainly the cut roses you but do not ! Here there is a very heady fragrance .
All of this comes at a price but it is a price worth paying. I must look at staying at the hotel for the week end when next in South Morocco.

I had a big party here 10 years ago - took over the whole hotel for 3 days. Absolutely amazing. Perfect. Inexpensive. 26 double room suites; huge tent at the back where the party was; fabulous Gardens and lux pool. 40 mins from Taroudant towards the High Atlas Mountains. Converted Pasha's palace that was once owned by a Danish aristocrat so is full of Danish and European furniture and books, mixed in with the very Moroccan décor. Extremely special and I visit as often as I can. Highly recommended.

Mohammed makes any traveller over the Tizi n Teste pass a warm welcome with mint tea, but don't leave without tasting his Berber omelette and Moroccan salad. This restaurant also has accommodation for the more hardy. It is very high on top of an escarpment looking out over the plains below. The views are stunning. The hotel/restaurant is 135km from Marrakech and 87km from Taroudant.
