Just walked into this pleasant cafe looking for lunch and found a winner. I had the triple cheese and chive soufflé with an apple, walnut side salad and my husband had a pork belly Sandwich. Both were very well prepared. Interesting menu and moderate prices. We sat on the outside porch and watched the world go by. Really good lunch

The award winning Victoria Hotel restaurant located on the Fleurieu Peninsula caters for every occasion. The Victoria Hotel Bistro provides customers with an outstanding dining experience not only for the quality of our food but exceptional surroundings and country hospitality. Proud multiple winner of the Australian Hotel Association of SA 'Best Country Bistro/Casual Dining'
The food was excellent. Well-prepared, generous meals, beautifully done. We had one lunch meal and enjoyed the food so much we had dinner and breakfast there the next morning before heading off. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Service was quick, too, despite a large number of people in the bistro.

You can sit in or outside with the lovely organic food inside if you wish to buy anything. Good service and simple meals great value, parking out front on either street makes it pleasant little town with lovely lawns and toilets facilities one block away on Albyn Terrace. Many lovely buildings particularly the SA bank opposite this café.

The coffee was very good We took takeaway cups and sat in the beautiful park overlooking a picturesque creek. Though we didn't eat we could see that the food served was both attractive and according to the patrons we spoke to very tasty.

Was this establishment really great? No it wasn't.
But, the owners seem very sincere and welcoming, and the establishment looks like it needs a little TLC. My understanding is that the current owners are relatively new operators, and it looks like they are trying hard to get the business back on its feet.
Go in and have a nice RIo coffee, and support a local business employing local young folk!
Hopefully, they will be able to continue to improve.

Very nice food at a great standard. Hamburges are fine but the real treat is the seafood pack. Great range and quality of seafood that beats the generic frozen stuff that most places give you. The yiros pack is also excellent, and even my wife who rarely eats red meat has partaken in the lamb version the last four times we've eaten from there!

Located across from the renown Soldiers Memorial Gardens sitting outside was busy with passers by but the view of the park is nice.
There are Seating options you can have your own room for a group or be inside at a table or on a comfortable lounge. I imagine bookings would be required for a group.
The decor is charming and compliments the antiques feel of Strathalbyn. The staff were attentive and friendly.
The lunch was simple with plenty of choices and delicious, you can get breakfast all day, but was disappointed that we did n't book in for the high tea, it looks fantastic and can't wait to revisit for this.

Mark and Carol have bought colour, flavour and fun to town. Delectable old fashioned recipes awaken cheerful memories of a baby-boomer childhood.
The “Strathalbyn Pie” is breakfast in a pie. Layers of smoky ham, tomato, spring onion, cheese and egg baked in a light mouthwatering crisp pastry.

This is a nice cafe, which offers good coffee and tasty light meals.
Their specialty is sourcing all produce locally- they claim all produce is sourced from within a radius of 75 kilometers.
They offer a delicious house made beef, ale and potato pie- well wirth a try!
Besides that, they have a range of freshly made sandwiches, as well as house made cakes and scones.
This is a good place to visit when you are having a day trip in the area, maybe after scouring the local antique and curiosity shops for a bargain!
The ambience is airy, with tablecloths and fresh flowers on each table. The service is cheerful and friendly.
Well worth a visit.
