This park is dedicated to the veterans of the Australian Armed Forces. It is beautifully laid out where people can relax on the grass watching the aquatic birds waddling to and fro. It also has a long bridge over the river Angas which takes you to a wonderful and scented rose garden with a bandstand? Or something of that description. A lovely place to spend an hour or so contemplating all the worlds woes.

Settled by early Scottish immigrants who left their mark with the distinctive architecture of their craftsmen built stone buildings. A good assortment of antiques and collectibles shops, cafes and a beautifully landscaped park. A beautiful place to visit on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Last time we came here there was a gentlemen who knew the history and was very interested to talk to. Also coming to the centre it was great to get more information on Langhorne Winery area

This once Presbyterian Church with clock face and bell tower constructed on the top of small cliif above the Angas River , looks over a fine bridge, bend in the river and a peninsular of land almost surrounded by the river , which contains a picturesque garden with a footbridge at the other end.The view of this church dominates the town center and is constantly painted and photographed. The setting is outstanding. The inside of the church is plain and smaller than what you would expect. The clock is functional but the bell is silent as it would only damage the tower if rung.Strathalbyn is a beautiful small town and well worth a visit.

Right in the heart of town, this garden is a lovely memorial to the fallen soldiers. A pretty gazebo, a rose garden and meandering walkways. Even bring a picnic and blanket, relax and enjoy. Walk to the other end a find the Anzac memorial hedged. A nice find on our short stay in Strathalbyn.

From the Wattle Rd entrance it used to look like an empty paddock. What it actually was was a native grassland that connected the endangered Peppermint Box grassy woodlands on one side to the Pink Gum Heath on the top of the hills. The bottom of the site will be extensively revegetated by the GWLAP in 2016-18 and will an exciting place to watch evolve over the next twenty years. Lots of wildlife if you stop and look closely. Nice loop walk through the park, and a great picnic bench up the top of the actual Bullocks Hill with views across Lake Alexandrina all the way to the dunes of the Coorong on a clear day. No facilities. No dogs, horses or motorbikes allowed.

This church is on Chapel Street, 0.5 km east of the town. It is striking on the outside with an unusually shaped tower, and inside it also has a number of special features, including large stained glass windows in the pointed Gothic style. A problem for the casual visitor is that the church seems to be locked most of the time, so it is a matter of attending a service or making a special arrangement. For those interested in viewing our old historic churches, either of these is worthwhile.

From the vines to the lakes to the countryside, a great little tour to see all of the region. Well signposted throughout, this self-guided tour takes you along the main roads through all the towns, and could probably be done on a bike if you were energetic enough. Fascinating area of SA
