At $59 pp. you’d expect it to be pretty good and whilst there were some disappointments, for the most part we had no complaints
We could have eaten fresh oysters all night if we chose to. (Sweet)
We could have eaten prawn all night but they were quite bland.
The salads and vegetables were also plentiful.
Lots of hors d'oeuvres but unfortunately no cheeses

Had dinner here in connection with a stay onsite. Booked well in advance, good thing too. Table was harborside and lovely, and all started well but then we had problems. Service was inconsistent, and timing was off for pace of meal. I had one of the specials and could not eat it because it was not disclosed that it contained ingredients that I cannot eat. The manager asked about our meal, we were honest in our assessment, and she did an adjustment. Full marks for trying to salvage our dinner.

Yes, thats right, we do have the BEST Burgers in Tassie! Our flake is locally caught, and melts in your mouth. Have some with a Seafood Basket. We also sell Fresh Local Crayfish, straight off the fishing boats, and cooked over a wood fire.Come in for a Mollys Big Breakfast, and see if you can finish it.We are open at 6.00am till late, and are BYO.We would love to see you.
A cross between a cafe and a milk bar, it served chicken, fish pizza and steaks in a venue where you’d be sure to find a Chiko Roll if they still exist.
I ordered whiting which was on the menu but was told the flathead was really good. I took the hint. And it was good. Not outstanding but it was good as were the accompanying salad and chips. In a town without unlimited choice, this place is alright.

Put off by the high prices at Strahan Village Hotel's own restaruant, we looked around and found this local pub with a busy dining room serving tasty food at reasonable prices. Well located on the harbour right at the train station for the West Coast Wilderness Railway, it's certainly worth a try.

Rebuilt in 1936, Hamer's captures the old-world charm of this mining port turned fishing village, where the walls almost speak to you of bygone eras. Settle back by the open log fire with the locals for a local ale or select from a range of Tasmanian wines. The bistro offers steaks, seafood, chicken, pasta and daily seasonal specials. A comprehensive wine list is also available. Hamer's Hotel is open for lunch and dinner everyday of the year except Christmas Day.
Good service, friendly staff. It was very very busy and we had to wait for a table on an early Thursday evening, I was then expecting something more. Food was good (I had a seafood and bacon fettuccine). All in all adequate without being above average in any way.

Bushman's cafe offers relaxed cafe style dining during the day with contemporary moddern Australian restaurant offerings in the evening. The wine and beer menu features some of the best wineries and microbreweries of Tasmania. 3 studio style apartments above the cafe are available for nightly stays at affordable prices.
We were recommended this bar and cafe from a lady we meet at Devils Corner in Swansea and she also recommended that we book which we did. We arrived early as I was told that a large party had booked by Steve. We were quickly seated by the very pleasant staff and our food and drink orders were taken and shortly after our orders arrived. I ordered the Salmon which for my taste buds was faultless and beautiful. My wife ordered the risotto which she enjoyed even though she had broken a tooth 2 nights earlier. Very enjoyable night out.

We stayed overnight at Strahan and were looking for breakfast. The place is a disaster but we found this place. Really good. The 2 young people running it could succeed anywhere, it was a really good cafe with decent prices. With no competition in this town it is absolutely the only place to eat.

It so happened that during our trip to Tasmania, in little townships, we kept coming across Banjo's Bakery. Suffice to say that service is excellent; food is freshly made, well priced and there's sufficient variety to suit people from all walks of life. There are also toilets available to public, that comprise of travellers and locals alike. For me, that's a life saver akin to McDonalds at other corners of the world. Highly recommended.
