The grilled sea bass was perfect...Many of the restaurants in Croatia grill the sea bass to perfection---olive oil, salt and a bit of garlic...so that is no surprise. And as I stated above the home-made flan is beyond belief good--tastes almost as though you are in France...The hotel sits beside the sea, in front of a tiny 500 year old church. The restaurant building housed monks who lived in seclusion in the fifteenth century...the kitchen has been modernized...they play great music, sometimes have dancing at night...incredible wait staff...simple fish--fresh and cooked perfectly in one of the most beautiful buildings ever...if this restaurant were in Boston or New York it would be one of the most expensive restaurants in the city...I had my entire dinner for about 1/2 what the fish alone costs in a good restaurant in Split...if you make it to this beautiful city try this restaurant.

House of food
It was a nice meal in a lovely little old restuarant. Only problem was the heat in the upstairs on a very hot evening. However would recommen the shark medallions in white wine sauce.

Charming family-run restaurant on a secluded Medieval street in the heart of Stari Grad, with a stone-clad interior and outdoor tables squeezed into a narrow aley, the center of trade and craft from 15th century. Serving delicious dishes of the Dalmatian cuisine since 1917. We are growing our own organic vegetables just outside the center of the town as well as producing our own olive oil.
In a very narrow street with only half a dozen or so tables - but the narrowness means it is well shaded and very comfortables on hot day. Good food and excellent service; menu is welllaid-ouy for passers-by to browse and there is a separate menu with vegetarian and vegan options - a delight for my wife who is Vegan. I had an excellent Fish {latter whch was the dish of the day.

We had hired a tour guide and he recommended this place for lunch. What a surprise. It didn't look like much, but the food and prices were good.

I got attracted to this restaurant by its marketing, but what a dissapointment! The Maitre was an arrogant man dressed in funny colors. The food was uninteresting and mediocre. Service was poor. Prices were high. No reason to go back. Don't get tempted by the nice location. You will regret it.

Nauta Restaurant is open for lunch from 12:00 to 14:30. for dinner from 18:00 to 24:00.
We visited as a group of 7 and our dinner was fantastic. The service was by far the best we've come across in Croatia.
The food was nothing but flawless. The Dalamatian platter was gorgeous and the fresh produce was so lovely to try.
We had an assortment of mains ranging from Pork Fillet, Mixed Skewers, Tuna Steak and Pizzas, everyone complimented their dishes and we all left with full bellies and smiles on our faces.
Would highly recommend!

Very nice location; outside on a small secluded square. The waiter (Marco?) knows how to sell his stuff and is very friendly and entertaining.
The mixed starters were nice. The main course we had expected better. Undercooked fries, some coleslaw and a piece of fish or meat. That is it!
The shark was nice, but the steak and lamb chops were disappointing.
Nevertheless, we had a wonderful evening!

Our apartment owner has recommended this place for a good, authentic dinner. Same day Reservations wasn't possible due to full occupancy, but next day we order meat (veal and lamb) slow cooking dish.
It was great! Our kinds had hamburger which was really juicy and tasty (didn't know it is possible.. ) in addition, Seating in the garden and smelling wood burning...
Made the whole experience worth it (it is also not expensive ).
Go there.

Lovely family restaurant "Kod barba Luke" on the main square in the most ancient part of Stari Grad within the UNESCO protected world heritage site is ran by a family Roić since 1970. The house was built in 1643.Restaurant is a part of family house built of stone. You can enjoy inside or out on the Terrace under the palms. We offer delicious specialties of tipical mediterranean and european cuisine, made with our own olive oil and daily fresh seafood catch by local fishrman.
We had dinner here this evening. Strangely it was really quiet but thats just how I like it....no competing for a table with the hoards.
The waiter was so friendly and attentive. We were seated straight away, opting to sit outside. The Seating area is really pretty.
I ordered a tomato, mozzarella & basil starter followed by a steak. All was excellent.
Like the rest of touristed Croatia, eating and drinking doesn't come cheap....
Would definitely eat here again.
