St. Gallen or traditionally St Gall, in German sometimes Sankt Gallen ( Sankt Gallen (help·info); English: St Gall; French: Saint-Gall; Italian: San Gallo; Romansh: Son Gagl) is a Swiss town and the capital of the canton of St. Gallen. It evolved from the hermitage of Saint Gall, founded in the 7th century. Today, it is a large urban agglomeration (with around 160,000 inhabitants) and represents the center of eastern Switzerland. Its economy consists mainly of the service sector. Internationally, the town is known as the home of the University of St. Gallen.

Fully recommended!!
You select what you want in your Focaccia: size, cheese/meat, 2 antipasti and a salad. The focaccia bread is freshly baked and all ingredients are delicious. I had Parmesan, olive pesto, zucchini and spinach. One of the best sandwiches ever!
To drink there is wine, beer and 2 types of ice teas home made: ginger and hibiscus. I had the ginger and was really good!
They have also food to order such as pasta, salad...
Simple place, nice people, good prices (Swiss comparison) and delicious food!
What more you want?
And you can also drop without reservation or take home...

We very nearly missed out by assuming there'd be a table for us at 6.30pm on Friday evening and were lucky to have the last one - we didn't take any more chances and made sure to reserve one for Monday. Just as well, too! It's hardly surprising that netts was usually busy - the food is excellent, the staff delightful and there's a very comfortable buzz about the place. Not stuffy at all, but great service and an interesting menu offering both traditional and more contemporary dishes. We don't normally return to a restaurant twice in a weekend, but simply couldn't resist a second evening here. Highly recommend.

During our visit to St Gallen we stumbled across this gem. The food was amazing and the wine selection impressive. The ambience of the restaurant and hospitality and professionalism of the staff made this a special dining experience.
We will be back when next in St Gallen.
Highly recommend!

There are bigger, hotter restaurants in St. Gallen. Certainly there are restaurants that are more expensive. But somehow La Vigna is just right. It's cozy, charming, great food, outstanding wine list, warm but correct service, central location -- what a nice combination. I've been twice now, and both were great experiences. Last time I had a local chicken dish that was superb. Highly recommended.

The inside of the restaurant isn't all that nice but the patio is great--sitting out in/near Gallusplatz. The food is very good quality and the service is excellent. Prices reflect that. We shared a salad and a main course and they added CHF 13 to our bill which I had mixed feelings about. They did split it for us into nice portions (which we didn't really ask for) and the presentation was very nice. In any case, I would highly recommend this if you are looking for a very nice Swiss dining experience.

The restaurant staff is not very professional and seems rude at times. Additionally they fill the floor with too many tables, so that you are sitting elbow to elbow with strangers. The menu is not original at all and the food is overpriced.

We went to Beizli a cold snowy afternoon and we really wanted something tasty to eat! Half-half fondue was there, waiting for us. Very distinctive taste that was perfectly accompanied by an unfiltered local beer.
Our meal could not be complete without a chocolate fondue so we said yes to this too. Not as good as the cheese one but it was fine.
We’ll certainly be back.

This was a charming restaurant near the center of St. Gallen in a traditional setting whose slanted floor only adds to the authentic atmosphere. The food was excellent with a focus on traditional dishes, some with a modern twist. Service was efficient and friendly. The wood floors and ceilings accentuate the local feeling and I can highly recommend this restaurant for business, family and friends.

This is a very good Italian restaurant serving quite authentic Italian cuisine - it is not a pizzeria (of which there are anyway many ;-)
The food was always good and the products they use to cook are of high quality.
The two owners (which are brothers) care for a very close and warm-hearted relationship to their guests, attentive and lively. The restaurant is very often fully booked and reservation well advised. It can therefore be inside a bit crowded and louder, however, the Italian way. At warmer weather there are tables outside, very nice for the location of the restaurant is in the old town, a perfect location. We always enjoyed our visits there, not just once.

Joined the lunch meeting of Rotary Club Rosenberg, St Gallen held in this 15th century castle. We had an excellent meal with excellent service and I will go back one day for more! Beautiful rooms as well!
