There is absolutely nothing negative about this place. You're welcomed with kindness, you're well taken care of, the food is delicious and well presented, the restaurant decoration is pleasant... We were/are happy customers!!!! Other guests seemed happy too. We will certainly go back without hesitation.

The cooking style of Restaurante "O Barradas" is based on original Portuguese cuisine and recipes adapted into a more contemporary defined taste. We only chose the best ingredients often found in the local region and serve daily fresh fish caught in Sagres and the tenderest meat from the North of Portugal (Mirandesa).
We visited this restaurant with friends some of which had eaten there before and four of us had not. The outside location was very special under the trees added to the atmosphere. The menu is excellent and fits everyone's dietary needs. I had the John Dory pan fried with garlic and capers. I have to say it was the best fish I had tasted in Portugal during my two week stay, and I had had fish at most of the evening meals. The shared starter was delicious and the restaurant had a good selection of wines. All six of us were completely happy with our meal choices. the dessert selection was very good and we managed to share the pancakes with cream cheese and lemon were amazing. The staff were very friendly and extremely efficient , not rushed and a very pleasant experience.

We were in Silves for one night and asked the woman at the castle ticket office for a recommendation. She stated Valdemar right away and we were glad to take her advise. It is down near the river, near the town market. It is a...MoreThank you so much for your opinion, here we wait for you when you want to eat our chicken or delight yourself with our grilled fish.

We were staying in Carvoeiro and paid a visit to nearby Silves. Looked some hints in the internet for lunch and randomly chose this restaurant.
We enjoyed a great meal with very polite service. Huge portions of fish with a bottle of excellent wine about 40 e / 2 persons. The atmosphere was very relaxing and a warm October day was a surplus.

Was hoping for a bit more, the food was Ok. We were just seemed to be a bit rushed by the staff. Not the worst place to eat, just didn't have the vibe.

I have looked for this restaurant on Trip Advisor and its not there. One of the reasons may be that it is very difficult to find, but to be honest once you have found it you are talking about a WORLD CLASS restaurant!! I have written a few reviews for Trip Advisor and I do believe that my comments have been looked at. Well fellow readers if you can find this reastaurant and can put up with the very gutteral Swiss German being spoken by the other guests in the restaurant who know that the Swiss trained chef has to be one of the finest in Portugal and that although the two star michelin rated "Villa Joya" and infact the highest rated restaurant in Europe is only just down the road in Gale. The Colina Verde can certaintly give the Villa Joya a run for its money!!

GPS: N37.16121, W8.30403
We live near Algoz for 6 months of the year! Recently discovered this wonderful restaurant in Algoz. This village is blessed with several good eating places, but by far the best is Colina Verde, and the best around the area too, including Albufiera! The food is superb, as is the ambiance, wine list and service! The cost too is reasonable, but great value for the quality! We now eat there with friends at least once a week and look forward to it. Very sad to say they have stopped doing a fabulous lunch at 7.50 Euros complete, but they are absolutely worth a visit, don't miss out, love it!

Welcome to Café Inglês, Silves - Algarve Probably the most charismatic place throughout the Algarve and some even say in all Portugal ... Situated in the heart of historic Silves, between the castle and IbnAl-Mutamid-Amar and a gorgeous Gothic Cathedral, the Café Inglês, built by a renowned figure in the city, is housed in a striking building of oriental inspiration which refers to the final nineteenth century. Café Inglês is more than a place where you can enjoy a delicious meal or a nice drink in beautiful dining rooms or if time permits in its various terraces if you prefer. The Café Inglês is much more than that; is a warehouse of ideas, cultures where people are the key players in the music and the arts has always been our commitment, in fact held at regular quality events in various musical aspects ranging from jazz, Latin jazz, african, latin and Jam sessions that include instruments from around the world, among many others, presents new artists in painting, sculpture, photography and the decorative arts, Poetry nights that included the presence of famous names of Anglo-Saxon poetry: Simon Peter and Pagnal Hermitage, which also involved local poets. Everything happens in an informal and relaxed environment, but always classy, where the pleasure of eating is combined with entertainment and PT culture...
This restaurant is next to the Cathedral at Silves and offers great views outside.
I imagined it was tourist snack bar but was pleasantly surprised to find it was so much more.
I had an excellent late lunch, whilst simple, was fresh, well presented and delicious.
The service was friendly, helpful and efficient.
This restaurant also offers regular live music and I suspect would be somewhere to come for a great night out.

A great cafe just next to the Cathedral in Silves. Very popular with English tourist for a great welcome and good value food and drink
Midway through a day of touring the area we came across this delightful cafe by its namesake Cathedral. The food was simple, unfussy, very tasty and generously proportioned. The Moroccan pie was very good. The owner, an ex pat Brit, was friendly and helpful. There was a mix of locals and tourists stopping by as far as we could tell. Recommended.

We discovered this place on the outskirts of the town by accident and went in blind - being tired and ravenous after a long drive. Looking at what our neighbours had ordered we saw this very appetising pan of squid served with new potatoes. Overwhelmed with this marvellous sight we ordered the aforementioned with salad, wine and beer. The squid was tender and very well cooked and very reasonably priced. I'd give this place 4.5 stars because before we were offered the dessert menu the waiters had already stated to take the rubbish out. Thus, we never got to have dessert but those we saw looked OK. So, worth a visit if you don't to eat in the centre of Silves but best arrive if you want a full meal.
