a great little restaurant by the port of Schinoussa ! the food is fabulous and the atmosphere in the restaurant is wonderful. The people are very friendly and polite and the prices are reasonable.Tip:just before the sunset, take the lovely stone path leading to the port.it's such a lovely walk at this time of day. Then, have dinner at Mersini fish tavern(dont forget to order cheese pies) and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere!!

Such a disappointing visit I'm afraid to the Deli restaurant. The genesis of the evening began with not being able to be seated, of course it does happen for a busy restaurant and made a little worse as it is the only recognised restaurant in the village. It wouldn't of mattered at all if the service was adequate once we seated however when we did get a table, we proceeded to wait over 1hr and 30 mins to have our starters delivered to the table before starters. We sent them back and eventually got on starter to share with the second promised 10 minutes later. This was made worse as the manager was the only person to take orders and to enquire about the status of the food. Room for improvement, if the manger gave responsibility to the staff to take orders, I'm sure these capable waitresses would be able to wait tables and communicate with the kitchen. To their credit, the manager did manage to send a glass or rosé for my girlfriend and myself of a matter of apology. Overall, the food was good however the evening was spoilt from a lack of consideration and care. Have a go at the restaurants at the sea front.

After a long walk down, and back again, it is nice to know there are refreshments to be had, which is not the case on all on the island Beaches. Bit noisy, prices seemed about right for drinks but we did not try the food, although there were many people eating.

Very nice place, visited to times during my stay on Schinoussa. Very few tourists on the island in this early season. Nice proper homemade food, large portions and very nice staff. Will absolutely recommend this restaurant and i'll be back for sure.

We tried the Meltemi in Schinoussa chora last night. It was fairly busy when we arrived around 9 pm and we were quickly offered a table by the pleasant waitress. We ordered some fried courgettes and tzatziki to start which were great. The first half carafe of local wine we ordered was OK, the alternative second half carafe was lighter and more to our taste ( no problems so far). The
Mixed stuffed tomato and pepper dish really was stone cold when it arrived, the chips were just slightly warm. My pork steak looked fabulous but was very salty and again the chips were cold. We called the waiter and explained they were not acceptable. A while later they returned piping hot (microwaved ?) Anyway we tucked in.
The waitress explained that the ovens were turned off at 5.30 and the oven food then waited orders. That crazy explanation didn't cover the cold chips though ;(. We also saw other tables sending back food.
Lots of pushy begging cats at the tables too and lots of smokers among the people trying to enjoy a meal.
We won't be returning ;(

Very pretty restaurant with friendly service and excellent food! We had the barbounia (Aegean mullets), moussaka, a fried cheese-donut whose name escapes me, and a mastic-based dessert. All of it was truly delicious. (They also take credit card, which helps when the sole cash machine in Schinoussa breaks down!)

Very peaceful and green place inside a Mediterranean garden, few steps from the Chora (centre), rooms are basic but fresh and clean provided of a/c, kitchenette; nice balcony with view.
Maria, the owner, is very kind and available for any need and also above the rooms is a cosy tavern with table in garden where she cook
and also a very good chef of greek cuisine and a big meats grill.
Also try the delicious bakery for sweet and salty snack.
Price for rooms are really convenient and the restaurant it's average price.
Really recommended for an escape from city life. Mario

Took a lunch there on a windy day, we really appreciated the fresh greek with local cheese and the rice with vegetables, simple but full of tastes ! They also run a small hotel with swimming pool, we'd to stay here next time :))

As staying across the road we thought we would try the "local" first. Disastrous event, not only were our mains given as starters, but there was no interaction with the diners. Waitress spent nearly all our stay conversing with locals or owners, no interest in us. Food we did receive was nothing to right home about - on our experience, avoid.
