Having read reviews and seen photos, we were looking forward to a first class meal with good service in an attractive setting. We were thoroughly disappointed. Our taxi climbed for longer and higher than we were led to believe. We were not greeted so found a "pod" which had been reserved so hoped it was the right one! A man then gave us the menus without speaking a word. We didn't fancy the very limited set menu.We ordered two named wines, one red, one white but these were brought in unlabelled bottles. Mine was not what I'd ordered and was like medecine. My husband's "pork scratchings" were little balls covered in powder of some description and very dry. I ordered chicken and my husband sausages both with chips. We know enough Spanish to order them in their language because the waiter didn't attempt to speak or understand at all. Mine arrived as half a roast or barbecued chicken with the two pieces twisted into each other and nothing else on the plate. The so-called "fritas" were incredibly small, unpeeled, some bad and mostly grey and under-cooked and served on a teaplate. The chicken was so tough I could not cut it so left most of it, especially when I saw pinkish-red near the bone. My husband ate some of the sausages and we left most of the food and I left the wine. We paid the bill and ordered a taxi back which came quickly.

We were on a one-day cruise visit and with mobility, age and vertigo issues we knew we wouldn't be able to do some of the things others enjoy on the island. But we weren't at all disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. We hailed a taxi in town and were whizzed up there in no time for €7. The bar was open (with Spanish cider on draught!) and we were soon full of complimentary banana crisps etc, waiting for the kitchen to start serving at 1pm. There's a lovely kiddy's play area, Gardens, vines, some cats ... The restaurant has views (if you get there early for a good seat), plus there are lovely little 'boxes' outside. Perhaps converted from kennels (?), each one has a table and benches for a private 'indoor-outdoor' meal. The views are tremendous, especially if you're on a cruise as you're looking way down at your ship in the harbour. Food is typically Canarian, with grilled meats served on your own personal table barbecue. We didn't want to leave! The taxi the owners called took us right back to the gangplank for €10 (the road system doesn't make that easy).

Great setting & atmosphere.
Pork ribs, chicken, goat, chips, mojo all excellent.
House wines nice. Good selection of La Palma and Spanish too.
Cheap as chips.
Went twice in two week holiday. Intended going back for our final meal of the holiday but it was closed on a Thursday.
Taxi from the boat is about 6 euro's.
Go hungry!

Wonderful setting in a little square on the main road in Santa Cruz. Watch the world go by and enjoy very tasty tapas and wine. The peppers stuffed with cod and the roasted cheese were particularly good. Good atmosphere, attentive staff and good tapas.

This is a touch of class on an island of unspoiled spectacular beauty. The food did this little lush volcanic Canarian isle justice. The black lava stone walls and delicate lighting downstairs so reflective of La Palma. Comfortable even when empty (we were very early but it soon filled up - quite a lot of tables were booked).
And at an unbelievable price.
We managed a 1kg rib (carved at the table and served on a heating skillet) for Sunday lunch, 2 starters a bottle of local wine and shared dessert (along with attentive proud and friendly service) for 60 euros.
We went again for our last night's meal before flying home.
Perfection. Treat yourself, you deserve it.

At first glance at the exterior of this restaurant from Calle O'Daly you might form the opinion that it is not worth going further but you would be wrong. The interior area is excellent with all the plants growing in the centre. A great place to sit and have a relaxing drink on a hot day.

Great place.
Food freshly caught in the ocean a few metres away.
Friendly staff and very reasonable prices.
Fine dining at its best.
It's like a fisher men's shack with loads of little cabins on one level by the ocean.
Just perfect.
Great selection of meat dishes too but hey why go to La Palma surrounded by the ocean and not try the local delights.
Such a lovely restaurant come old rustic shack which adds to the terrific charm.
Go try it you'll love it.

Palate Piccolo Pizzeria, established since 1980 in Tenerife (Canary Islands), then 1998 is installed in Guanabo (Cuba), Finally, in 2004, opened in Santa Cruz de La Palma (Canary Islands). We've worked hard to make our kitchen does not change and always with the premise and the thought that "the customer is the lifeblood of our business".
Within walking distance of the Cruise Port, we choose it because they had pizza. They have an extensive menu other than pizza. The other three members of my party got the pizza and I only got the shrimp because I saw it go by to another table. The woman that ordered it happened to be one of the crew on the ship we arrived on. She told me that it was the best dish there and I would fully concur.
You can dine inside or out and there is front outside and rear outside. We sat inside and if you want an adventure try to find the bathroom without asking anyone where it is.

My visit to this restaurant was quite memorable, perhaps not so much for the food but for the ambience and surroundings.
We arrived at a small street just near the seafront at about 12.40pm on a Tuesday afternoon. The few steps into the building take you into a small room about the size of an average house’s front room. The kitchen is attached to it and you can view the solitary chef preparing the meals. There are about six tables and room to sit approx. 12 people but no more. Carmen, the patron, arrived shortly after we got there, was charming and very polite. We were told that there was no menu, but instead she sat on a chair and told us what there was on offer. That was in itself charming and unusual but it would have been a good idea to tell us what we would be expected to pay (more or less) for each course, or perhaps have a set-price menu.
My first course came; a salad with chunky tomatoes, lots of slivers of parmesan cheese and olives. The ingredients were good but the olives were the leathery type which you get in tins, so that was a bit disappointing. I then had the entrecote which was beautifully cooked, tender and tasty. My desert was chocolate mousse which was also delicious although I would have preferred if it had been a little colder.
All in all, I enjoyed my meal. I found Carmen very charming but I was slightly jealous as she surreptitiously stroked my husband’s neck, back and arms every time she walked past our table, but never once touching me. I shall have to return again and sit in a more advantageous position where I can profit from this extra massaging experience while I feed my mouth with delights.
