So glad we stopped at the Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel to enjoy a sumptuous sustainable lunch at Restaurante El Sendero. It was a first-class meal from salad through dessert, with plenty of options for my vegetarian wife. A unique fine-dining experience at the end of a bumpy road, with a gorgeous view and grounds that make it a worthwhile detour.

Mi Rancho Bar Restaurante Y Chicharronera

Reviewed By Kevin P - Calgary, Canada

We live in San Ramon and Mi Rancho in Los Angeles is convenient for us. We've been coming here for about 3 years now.
We have noticed that the quality has been slowly getting worse over time. Poco y poco, or little by little.
We used to be big fans of the ceviche, but no longer.
Tonight we wanted to go out, and instead of making the drive to our favorite place, we decided to give Mi Rancho a try. Again, convenience. Wrong choice.
We ordered one hamburgesa, one cheese fingers, one fillet al ajillo and one mariscos.
The problem was with the mariscos. This is the seafood platter. It looked good, but when my spouse pointed out something on the lettuce I thought it was just a dark spot ... a piece of cilantro or something. Closer inspection revealed a little bug. I carefully removed it from the lettuce and put it on the edge of my place to get a better look. (black on white). Sure enough, it was a bug. I wish I'd been thinking and taken a picture, but that wasn't the case. It looked like a little snail type of thing, but there was no shell, and guess what ... it was moving.
So, Mi Rancho, you've had our business over the last 3 years, but no more.
Yes we got the offending dish taken off the bill, but that was it.

Aromas Cafe

Aromas is a interesting example when a small business grow quality drop! However since I am from San Ramon I have seen the different stages of this business and I feel quality of the food is good and very practical system to order. The time of response varies depending the day and some days is sooooo slow the service that my friends get frustrated and doesn't want to come back BUT others everything is fast. Prices are a little expensive than others but I know that the foreigners love the place because is a mix between local food and something that they are more used to. In general still is a nice to have a good coffee and a good conversation with a friend IF you are not in limited of time!

Restaurante Nazca

Reviewed By CostaRicaOutsider - San Ramon, Costa Rica

We went here for my birthday, although we'd never been before. It was a good choice.
When eating out in San Ramon we usually go to places that have good but unremarkable food, so we thought we'd try something different. Honestly, we had no notions about Peruvian food so I have no idea if it was authentic or not, but we thought everything we got was delicious.
The menu has tons of fish and seafood options, but we're not particularly big on either, so we got the chicken causa for an appetizer. Again, I have no idea if it was authentic, but we really liked it. Then we had the Nazca chicken for one of us and the cabrito for the other. Cabrito makes me think "goat," but the waitress said it was lamb. Who cares, because whatever it was, it was great. The drinks were really good as well. We chose the pisco sour and a chicha morada.
The menu was all in Spanish. That normally wouldn't have been an issue since we're Costa Ricans, but since some of the dishes only had a name, we had to ask the server for some more information and descriptions. But she was very helpful and friendly.
The only downside was the location. As a few others have noted, it's right on a busy intersection so it's fairly loud when buses (frequently) pass by. But the restaurant itself wasn't loud, but then again, we went about 2:30 in the afternoon, so that's to be expected.
We enjoyed this place a lot and hope to go back some day soon.

We were on our way to Villa Blanca in the Los Angeles Cloud Forest and came across this intriguing corner restaurant that looked nice, friendly and had sushi! We were super hungry and loved our meals. Delicious fresh, well-presented sushi, creative salads and tasty chicken skewers. Very nice staff and the TV was playing Concerts of famous Italian Operatic Tenors-- what a treat! Strange but awesome.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Very impressive for San Ramón and definitely gives the Central Valley sushi restaurants a run for their money. We will be back!
