San Gimignano, known as the "city of beautiful towers," had 72 towers in its heyday. Now 14 remain, and, rising above Tuscany's Elsa Valley, they make the town look like a medieval dreamscape. Take in the fresco-covered Collegiate Church, the Civic Museum and the views from atop 177-foot Torre Grossa. Daytrippers from Florence tend to fill up the streets during the day, so for a more up-close-and-personal look at the town, spend the night.

Locale storico, situato sulla via principale di San Gimignano. L'ambiente e ricercato ed elegante con una terrazza panoramica che si affaccia sulla vallata. Cucina tipica toscana ricca di varieta e scelta.
We ate two dinners here, and we enjoyed the experience. The dining room is pleasant with a good view and well-spaced tables. Service was exemplary. On the first visit my wife started with deep-fried courgette flowers with ricotta; good, but not great. My risotto with porcini and truffle was excellent. My wife continued with pasta with a wild boar source, and again it was good but not more. My suckling pid was too fatty, and the roast potato accompaniment unimaginative. We drank local white and red wines, both excellent. The second visit was better. My wife chose a venison carpaccio with salad followed by ravioli with pistachio and ricotta - all very good. My beef carpaccio with truffles and diced vegetables was very good, and my tuna main with olives was excellent, though the tuna had been sliced rather sloppily. Having overindulged earlier in the day, we stuck to San Pellegrino mineral water with this meal. Prices were very reasonable for meals of this quality.

Best gourmet Restaurant In San Gimignano.
A young team focused on creativity and the guest to create a long time remember experience.
Passionate about food, super wine cellar, humble and respect are our main characteristics.
We visited Cum Quibus in early January 2018. Once again an amazing meal - the chef at Cum Quibus constructs the most imaginative dishes combining unusual flavours and ingredients. Between courses you are served complimentary 'taster' dishes which are both visually stunning and explosively tasty. We are regular visitors and have always been amazed by the food. Finally Cum Quibus has been awarded a Michelin Star and it's not a surprise. It's long overdue and testament to the imaginative cuisine and impeccable service. Congratulations and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

The gelateria is very famous all over Italy. They have won all types of international awards and do have a number of unique local flavors. We tried world championship winning crema de Santa Fina which is saffron cream ice cream, very smooth, unusual flavor grows on you. They also have veraccha which is local white wine, flavor.
There are lots of smiling celebrities on the wall from Tony Blaire and Miss India to well known Russian TV talk show hosts.
The gelateria is in the central square Piazza di Cisterna, right next to the Duomo and towers. The visit to charming medieval walled in village would not be complete without visit to this gelateria.

We enjoyed a couple of hours on Sunday evening spent at this wonderfully boutique wine bar. Tucked away in a quaint location, this exceptional place offers fantastic local wine and food. We enjoyed two glasses of the delicious, full-bodied Panizzi Vernaccia di San Gimignano. A tasty, fresh local white wine. The meat and cheese platter also provide a great sample of local varieties. Finally, I must also mention the fabulous service and hospitality of the owner.
A pure joy to visit and a great motto on the culture of wine.

I was here with a client for business lunch and the place looks really nice. The owner took us for a walk around and we discovered that this is a real Italian farm! Wine, cows, veg garden etc etc. It was a light lunch but all dishes made with all natural ingredient, directly from the place.

3483181907 Along the eastern wall, away from the main street. A very simple no frills Sandwich shop. He offers cheap panini with the best pure ingredients, local salami, and pecorino cheese, along with good inexpensive local wine. A real contrast with the "tourist trap" establishments which are crammed into this small city.
