This small inauspicious fish restaurant is fast gaining nationwide recognition as one of the best and most exciting places to eat in Scotland. With a superb location & stunning sea views on the upper floor of the Calmac building on Tobermory pier, and their own fishing boat landing fresh local shellfish - its an experience not to be missed. Just turn up unannounced for lunch, but book in advance for dinner. Lots on offer for non fish eaters too.
We had an early evening meal in Café Fish. Loved the setting (we were lucky with the sunset over the harbour), the atmosphere and the food, and the prices were reasonable. The staff were pleasant and very efficient, and that's where the problem was for us! We were served and ate this lovely meal in double quick time, an experience that others have similarly commented on. Back at our hotel (rather more quickly than we anticipated!) we mentioned this, and were told that Café Fish do aim to fit in 3 evening sittings (apologies if this is not true) and so things can feel rushed even in October. A shame really, given the food and the setting, we would have loved to have had the meal at a bit slower pace.

We visited on Monday evening and had a wonderful meal with excellent attentive service. The manager was very friendly and even told us the best place to see sea otters. We booked immediately for this evening and were looking forward to another excellent meal. On arriving at the restaurant the manager explained that the owner had closed the restaurant in a fit of pique and had locked out both the manager and the chef and cut off the phone and internet so they could not contact pre booked customers. We were unable to drive elsewhere so have been forced to have a picnic from the Spa shop as our final celebratory dinner on Mull. We are extremely unhappy.
Shockingly bad service. This little restaurant has been a real little gem but cannot remain so if the owner treats his chef, his manager and his customers in this cavalier fashion.

At the Glenforsa the attitude to food is one of simplicity. Good food, cooked well and presented in comfortable surroundings - not forgetting quality wines! The food is mainly seasonal and the Glenforsa try to utilise the best that Scotland has to offer, whether it be Venison from Mull or Scallops from Tobermory, aiming to give customers an authentic taste of good, local food.
We chose the Glenforsa hotel reataurant as it was recommended. We ordered a variety of main courses in the bar which arrived less than 10 minutes after ordering. The portions were all children sized compared to everything else we ate on the island of Mull but still for a very full price. The fish unfortunately tasted slightly off and burgers were a very limited size and also over cooked. This was our worst meal on Mull and we left quickly afterwards... It also took 15 minutes to pay at the bar due to a lack of staff. The high point of the meal was the take off of a bi-plane behind the hotel. Unfortunately a place to avoid!

The Galleon Grill is a firm favourite in Tobermory. It specialises in Steaks, ribs and seafood all cooked on an open grill. It is only 10 yards from the harbour front.
We went to the Galleon Grill for dinner in search of some good red meat and they did not disappoint. We ordered a rack of lamb with stir fry veg and it was phenomenal. The service from the staff was very welcoming and extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend this restaurant when in Tobermory.

Centrally located in the village of Salen, the Coffee Pot offers light lunches and fresh home baking six days a week between 10.30 And 5pm (closed Sundays). With outdoor Seating for when the sun shines and a log-burning fire for when it doesn't! A warm welcome awaits you. Dogs welcome outside.
We stopped here for coffee and cake when we first arrived on Mull and, although it was a good way from where we were staying we made a point of making a return visit. The staff were really welcoming, the coffee was excellent and the home made cakes were superb. a jewel of a place.

Visited the bakery cafe for quick lunch whilst on a day trip. The food is well presented and tastes delicious. There is a huge selection of wonderful cakes and pastries to choose from and it's a pleasant little place for sweet treat lovers !!

Well I must say that this young lassie Kyle, owner and ice cream maker, has got the competition licked when it comes to outstanding quality Ice Cream and Sorbet's with an array of flavours that will make you go back again and again. If in Tobermory do give it a try, you can't miss it right in the centre of town...

There are loads of places to eat in Tobermory and this place was recommended by a local, and it didn't disappoint.
The setting is lovely with great views over the harbour and we were lucky enough with the weather to be able to sit outside.
Food was great, really fresh and tasty with plenty of choice and decently priced. Service was good too.
Would definitely eat here again if ever back in Tobermory.

Restaurant is open for dinners, Monday to Friday 6.30pm till 8.30pm. Creating beautiful dishes out of the amazing produce from the land and sea around us. We're looking forward to making your evening an enjoyable one and sending you home full and happy. Look out for some specials nights on Saturdays during the summer!j
Having eaten at most restaurants on Mull over several years this is one of the best for the quality of food and service. If you want to dine well then it's a must. The fish and steak are of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. Had the surf and turf, I've never had such large and deliciously cooked langoustines and fillet steak, much better than any I've had in top rated restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh. The fish dishes we had for starters and my partner's main were just as perfect.
Up the hill from Tobermory main street which certainly generates an appetite but well worth it. Can't wait to visit again next year.

We had heard that this place was special. It was very nice. WE had oysters followed by lobster and puddings. We were able to buy some of their sour dough bread which was absolutely delicious and which we enjoyed for several days picnicking
