Fantastic pies - a regular stop in Rutherglen This visit was four of us for lunch after the Cowra - Rutherglen rail trail ride - 2 Indian beef, 2 Thai chicken curry with excellent crisp, flakey crusts and very good fillings. Love Parkers Pies!

We've eaten at Tuileries many times in last 10 years or more. It has never been a poor choice for a great meal, and on this visit we thought the food was really very good. The building is big and quite ugly from the outside, but as soon as one enters it is modern and stylish. Service is friendly and relaxed but retains enough poise and formality to add the the ambience. I was disappointed that my 'blue' steak was rather too well cooked, but it was none-the-less very tasty and well presented. My Stilton 'soufflé" entrée with walnuts and chervil was simply stunning. This is one of the restaurants where the overall prices are quite reasonable leaning to the high side, but the wines are seriously marked up. Careful choice, if you know Rutherglen wines, will pay dividends. It is amusing that even with a stelvin closure the cap was left on the table when the waitress opened our wine :-) In many restaurants which offer a cheese plate it is quite poor and predictable - not so on this occasion with a choice from 5 excellent, varied and interesting cheeses. A great meal.

Adjoining the cellar door area, our restaurant serves food themed on those wonderful, simple dishes found in French cafes. Depending on the season we serve dishes such as terrine, confit duck, boeuf bourguignon and croque monsieur together with a delightful dessert menu. The restaurant offers you the chance to relax and enjoy our wines accompanied by a delicious lunch. Open for lunch from 27 December to 7 January, excluding 1 January.
This is our second time dining at this wonderful little winery. The meal was served with paired wines which was outstanding. Cannot recommend this winery for lunch if you are visiting Rutherglen. This place will leave you feeling spoilt and indulged. Reasonably priced also. Favourite wines are the Malbec and Apero.

Located in the Star hotel this Chinese restaurant offers great takeaway and dine in meals. Flavours are exceptional and the seafood is very tasty. So good we went there twice in the week.

I only popped in here to watch the cricket, and to get out of the afternoon summer heat from outside, but there was sport on the TV screens and some comfortable Seating, and cold crisp beer. Can't complain. They even had credit card tap & pay.

Dropped in on my way to a meeting. The service was friendly and obliging for my dietary needs. They have a wide range of sweet and some pies and savoury bagels. Their amenities are out of action currently so you have to walk to the information house or local pubs.
Prices are reasonable and you can dine in or take away

Thousand Pound Wine Bar and Store was developed by Denis Lucey (Bottega Melbourne) and the All Saints Estate siblings, Eliza, Angela and Nicholas Brown. It is a relaxed venue, with contemporary interior and bar Seating which sets a new scene for Rutherglen. Nick Brown created the extensive wine list with family and friends in mind. Wines are sourced predominantly from 'family owned' wineries, and winemakers and wineries that Nick admires. Nick Brown has also included curios such as Maotai (rice wine) from China and Rutherglen wine cocktails made from fortified wine. Nick Brown says 'We grew up in a family that doesn't judge a person on what wine they drank. We wanted our thirsty local crowd to be able to discover wines that we love to drink from 'family owned' Australian wineries to wineries abroad that we have a special affiliation with. Thousand Pound Wine Bar and Store has a small offering of local and imported, cider, beers and spirits, which the family also enjoy. Housed in an original Victorian store front in Rutherglen' s historic main street the building has been renovated simply with bar Seating, high tables in the main room with an inviting hallway with wine barrels for more of an intimate scene. Chef's Simon Arkless and Cait Mitchelhill from the hatted Terrace Restaurant at All Saints Estate prepare humble, fresh, bar food.
A crowded restaurant but they fitted us in. Good food although I was surprised that the optional side served with my fish had to be a big bowl of chips. My wife's steak and my king salmon were excellent. An extra waiter would have improved the experience
