Home to the four-day Roskilde Festival, arguably the best European rock festival, hilly Roskilde is less than 20 miles from Copenhagen. If hordes of rock stars aren't pillaging the town of 50,000, the excellent Viking ship museum is Roskilde's prime attraction. Featuring five ships discovered at the bottom of the fjord, you can add to the Viking experience by rowing the fjord on an hour-long longboat trip. The town is also famed for its much adapted 12th-century Roskilde Domkirke Cathedral.

We went here with another couple. The welcome drink was great. The food was authentic and they accomodated our wishes in getting a little bit more chili in the dishes. The restaurant is nicely decorated and kept warm. The hostesses were very friendly though not very coordinated. It took 20 minutes just to get the aperitif. We were a little bit unlucky with the Seating as we were placed at a table just next to the entrance door, so we got the draft into the backs all the time. But more chili and Thai beer helped keeping the warmth ;-). Absolutely worth a visit, if you like Thai food

A nice restaurant. The seatings are at Little dark, but the menu is small, but well presented. We had the "beer menu" accompagnied by Herslev Beer. Great. The food was well prepared. For dessert we had smoked cheese, litterally smoked. The smoke is captured in a glass with lid. Beautiful, surprising and the smell is fantastic. We'll come again.

Really high-end restaurant. Outmost professional service and perfectly set tables. Absolutely high-end kitchen and vine menu. Staff offers the best service seen for long and the time from dish to dish is carefully coordinated from somewhere unseen. Pricy but definitely worth the money.

Went there last week with a group of four. We picked 5 courses each and were blown away by all of them. All the courses are unique and interesting. Definitely the best place in town for a Nordic gastro experience
However, it was very price. You can get a similar experience in Copenhagen to 2/3 or even 3/5 of the price. Hence, I have opted for the four points rating

We came to see the Cathedral and ended up here for dinner and it was the perfect ending for a day. The restaurant is a very quaint setting in the basement of an historic building.
The menu has something for everyone. The service is outstanding and very professional. An extensive wine and beer list helps get things going. They present seasonal menus as well as an extensive al a carte selection. We had the rack of lamb and it was the best I've had in a long time. They also have a limited salad buffet available which we haven't seen in any other Scandinavian restaurant.
The "nutty" cake with chocolate mousse topping is out of this world. If you travel to Roskilde don't miss this restaurant either for lunch or dinner!

After a sunny winter walk by Roskilde fjord, we had lunch at Vigen. The view towards the town is fantastic, there's lots of space and the restaurant is stylish in a simple way. We ordered dishes with herring, prawns on egg and fried fish. The herring was very good, but the prawns were somewhat tasteless. Service was a little amateurish. Vigen obviously thrives on the unbeatable location, but our food was overpriced.

I can't comment on anything except the pizzas as we all had one, but they were pretty good. A nice thin base and decent topping, but a bit too heavy with the cheese. Service was excellent - very helpful and attentive. Will definitely go back next time I am looking for pizza in Roskilde - I might even try the wide selection of steak and fish next time.

We come here often. Not because it is particularly close by, neither because it is cheap - sushi should never be cheap.
This place, and the food in particular, is worth the trip to otherwise boring Ros Torv, a mall one kilometer or two from Roskilde central square.
The food is excellent! Well balanced in taste, saltyness and salinity, almost all the rolls, sticks and nigiri bites are equally lovely.
And yet. At the end of the Day, there is one roll to rule Them all: the youki roll. If you go to Zhiki Sushi, you must have the Youki roll! And have it at the restaurant, while the panko inside is still hot.
The place as such is chique and still subtil in its decor with soft chairs and dark colors.
Most of the service personel is fairly experienced, but be prepared to get served by someone in training - and remember that you were also inexperienced once.
Go to Zhiki Sushi when in Roskilde. End of discussion.

We picked this restaurant On la fourchette. You've got to climb upstairs and discover a large room well decorated and lightful. I tried The mushroom omelette, my husband The herring and our daughter The steak of The day. Everything was good but very expensive. I had to claim some sauce for The herring bug The waiter was very Nice.
