I was introduced to this restaurant by a friend and was not disappointed. This restaurant specializes in dumplings and Shanghai cuisine. The dumplings are out of control! Especially the soup dumplings and the Shanghai wontons. Everything is so good and I continuously go back to this place. The service is okay, and you often have to wait as it can get very busy, but I promise, it is worth it. Although some others say the prices are high, I personally feel that the prices are very good for what you get.

No Reservations but they were able to accommodate us (group of 12). Extensive menu to choose from and all the food that we tasted was excellent. From mild to spicy food, from satays to curry, chips and rotis and so on. You will find something to please your tastes, guaranteed. No alcohol but a good variety of drinks. Don't forget to bring cash as they don't take credit/debit cards. Fast and friendly service. The food is worth it.

I’ve been coming here for years. It has old style great service. Waiters all dressed in suits. Coat check. The whole nine yards. Straight from the 70’s. The food is fantastic and always consistent. Great steaks. The best shrimp cocktail in the world. I have no idea where they get the shrimp but they are the biggest and the best I’ve ever eaten.

Zen Japanese Restaurant is aiming for the preservation of the traditional culture of Japanese cuisine, which gives the best impression of the cuisine to the patron while being loved by them.
After Reading a number of good reviews, we were looking forward to try the food at Zen. We tried Omakase sushi as well as Omakase sashimi and a few other items from the a la carte. Food was good but rather ordinary, and portions were small, we have had much better Japanese food in Toronto. Service was quick and good.

I was severely disappointed on Monday November 13th, when I invited a friend to lunch with me . This is a restaurant that I had visited with other friends on more than one occasion, and the food is usually good. However on Monday we ordered chicken lentil soup which was tepid, lumpy and salty, and we could not eat it. The meal which consisted of falafel, chicken and pita was cold. This was disturbing as the meals are typically edible and warm. I had to apologize to my friend and we went elsewhere to get coffee and dessert. My friend is determined never to return, even though I told her that this is not my usual experience.
The young lady that served us seemed somewhat inexperienced so I did not bother to complain to her. ..

I have to say... and I never thought I’d say it... this is great food and a new close second to my favourite Indian food restaurant.
The veg pakoras and the Chana masala were the best I’ve ever had. The buffet food is presented beautifully and you would never know that you’re eating buffet food. The food is also spicy but not when it first hits your tongue, it takes a bit to settle in but they provide you with lots of water for that. I found myself trying new dishes without question because the spices all work together so beautifully.
Now the downside: management were yelling and screaming when I got there as they were finalizing the lunch buffet. Definitely a turn off for a first timer. Also, the price is a bit much for lunch. I would say $12-15 would be more reasonable. Most people I saw were only have a plate and a half or so because it is all so good and so filling. $20 is a hard take at lunch, no matter how good the food is.
I will probably be back but for take out.

Great ambiance promising more than they delivered. The place is packed yet they’re under staffed.
My steak was perfect yet the baked potatoes were cold ... same as the veggies. The servers knew it when they brought it to the table and the kitchen knew it as it went out the door to be served. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Hmmmm
The king crab was a bit fishy. There’s a lot to like about this place but it isn’t the food.
We won’t be back. :)

We celebrated the Year of the Rooster with dinner on Saturday night. We made Reservations and the table was ready for us at 6pm. Service was prompt and the dishes were excellent. We had dined previously at the Dundas Street Chinatown location and found both...MoreSo glad to hear about your positive Asian Legend experience. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
