Lochgreen House Hotel is a 4 red star luxury hotel set in acres of manicured Gardens with luxuriously appointed bedrooms, a stunning ballroom and award winning restaurant. Only the finest local produce and our highly trained staff make Lochgreen an experience to remember.
Struggling to understand all the positive reviews.
The lounge area for pre dinner drinks is lovely. Cocktails were very good and amuses were pretty good (except far too much aniseed flavour in the duck macaroons).
The dining room is smart and has a nice ambiance. However, this is where the positives end. We were a party of 5 seated at a table that should have been for 4 absolute max, leaving at least two of us sitting with table legs in front of us (unacceptable) and one of us almost on the lap of the next door diner and having to move his chair every time a waiting staff wanted to reach another of us.
Service was well intentioned but very poor throughout, suggesting lack of training and/or oversight. Drinks glasses not refilled, sometimes even when we asked, eg pointing out a wine glass was empty. Lengthy wait to order dessert and even longer to request the bill. And my absolute pet hate: not knowing whose dish is whose! How hard is it to note on the order which guest ordered which dish. Unforgivable at an establishment such as this.
Scallops were tiny, halved & so were very thin, and completely over cooked. My beef was good but 3 people had venison and two were lovely and rare and large slice and one was an overcooked smaller slice. That kind of inconsistency really irks as one diner is left feeling cheesed off. Desserts were good, but service again let down by drinks ordered to have with dessert not arriving until chased again.
We couldnt complain on the night as someone else was hosting. But very disappointed.

Visited with family on a busy Friday afternoon and would highly recommend.
Great special lunch time offer but also main menu and specials available too.
Food was outstanding, great portion size and well presented.
The children’s meal is great value for money and a great selection.

We visited Elliot's as we had Itison vouchers, The restaurant was fairly busy, a good sign
There was no complaints about the food very tasty and a varied Lunchtime menu, all reasonably priced. The drinks were a wee bit dear, but the service was excellent
Will definitely be back soon

The Taj Tandoori is Scotland's Premier Indian Restaurant and has just been voted Best Curry House in Scotland by the British Curry Awards. The Taj Indian Restaurant welcomes the opportunity of catering for all occasions, including parties and weddings. Within the restaurant we can cater for small or large parties. A recent addition is the Taj Executive Room which can be hired separately and can cater for up to 26 people in a private, sumptuous, relaxed atmosphere. To make your night very special you can either choose from the main menu or discuss with the Chef an exciting authentic Indian dish.
Being going for over 30 years and as always ...another fabulous experience. Warm friendly welcome to our group of 25 rugby members in private room. Fabulous starters (fish pakora) and mains (lamb tikka tandoori) washed down with refreshing cobra beers. Top quality food and service as always. Keep up the fabulous cuisine ...Graham Maxwell (Irvine rugby club)

Visited on a business trip instead of eating in the Western House Hotel where we were staying. Had a tempura battered chicken dish. The batter was far too thick when compared to traditional tempura so was stodgy. May be my choice but not well execured. Staff were very good but the menu needs a rethink. Most italians I visit at home execute every dish well. Stick to traditional italian dishes.

Warm friendly place on a cold December evening.
Staff professional and friendly, good choice on an extremely reasonably priced menu, I had goats cheese salad, followed by Turkey and mushroom pie, both very tasty.
The only slight niggle would be that the beef teriyaki was a bit too salty but all in all a really nice meal. Much much preferable to one of the two other over priced chain eateries nearby.
Two of us had three courses, one of us two, three pints, a bottle of wine and the bill was less than £60. Will definitely return.

Su Casa takes inspiration from the Australian coffee culture. Our coffee is ethically sourced, high grade arabica which is roasted on the premises. We offer a wide selection of coffees, teas and organic soft drinks; we have a small selection of sandwiches and soups, and changing daily cakes.
Went here on Friday afternoon as I normally do when coming to Ayr and couldn't believe the changes
Cafe was almost empty at a peak time and no greeting whatsoever from staff
I saw that there were no cakes in fridge and menu was very limited. Still no recognition from waitress so we went elsewhere
This was my go to place in Ayr but won't rush back
I can only assume it has been bought over or has completely new staff

Where to start from the lovey service to the amazing service. We came here for a family members birthday. On arrival we were seated quickly by staff that seemed to be very enthusiastic about their job. The food was all very nice and after we had finished they brought out the birthday cake and sang happy birthday for our family member. Thank you to all the staff for making us all feel welcome and helping us to celebrate a mile stone birthday
