Once a vital part of a mighty sea power, Positano is today a sophisticated resort on the central Amalfi Coast. Moorish-style architecture rises up steep slopes that gaze out on the Sirenuse Islands. Smart boutiques, selling fashions for visitors to display on Grand Beach, abound in the village. And it’s a great base for exploring the area—you can easily travel by boat to Capri, Ischia and the Grotta dello Smeraldo cave.

A marvelous view of the sea, a comfortable and elegant atmosphere where is possible to taste authentic local dishes in one of the most romantic restaurant in Positano. Enjoy also the great selection of wines and other special drinks.
We walked past this restaurant on the way to our hotel and my wife immediately decided to stop everything and have dinner there. The view from the street patio Seating is juts breathtaking day or night. The food however was much less memorable. We had a fish and a seafood soup as main courses. Both came out bland and lacking flavor. We expected more kick out of our first Italian dinner in...Italy. Moreover, we were still so hungry after that dinner that we had to go get a pizza down the street. Personally, we'd recommend the restaurant just for appetizers and drinks in order to enjoy the view and the setting...

Partiamo dalla cucina perche crediamo che la qualita delle nostre pietanze sia il fondamentale elemento del nostro ristorante. Il nostro scopo diventa di farvele gustare a casa nostra nel ristorante conosciuto come IL RITROVO.
Of all the places you can eat in Positano, we liked this little haven best. Located in in Nocelle (a town above Positano) this romantic and warm restaurant serves up more than just good food - they bring back the authentic vibe of how you could imagine Positano used to be back in the days of Steinbeck's first visit back in the 1950's.
Starting with a complimentary Processco we tried the bruschetta (and yes it's worth all the fanfare - it's really good) the Steak and a Pasta dish and not a single bite was disappointing. Further, the all of the staff at the restaurant were friendly and attentive while giving their guests room to enjoy their meal, their company and the expansive views of the Amalfi coast below. I highly recommend this place. I can't wait to return.

We came here on the recommendation of our tour guide and had a really nice time. Great atmosphere. The food was good but not among the best that we had while in Positano. In particular would not recommend the ravioli as the portion was very small but it could be a good starter. Would recommend eating at Lo Guarracino instead if you can get a reservation!

Unbelievable experience in every aspect. We were turned onto this restaurant by a local friend who has known the family owners for 20+ years. We were served the lunch that others here have described: antipasti, first and second courses along with house wines and water.
The service was incredible, prompt and courteous. Delicious food. Breathtaking views and a price that couldn't be beat.
Finishing our meal with limoncello, desserts and a private tour of the farm and attached villa only made our time more special.

Historical mediterranean family restaurant since 1965, featuring passion, authentic food from local ingredients and warm hospitality
This is the second time we visit a restaurant.
Good location between Praiano and Positano with private parking,
The food in the restaurant is simply amazing, on the one hand traditional Italian and simple and on the other modern and sophisticated.
Without doubt our favorite restaurant in the area.

Charming restaurant in the heart of Le Sirenuse Hotel. The restaurant is entirely lit by 450 candles. The cuisine is contemporary Italian, using only the freshest local ingredients. The view is breathtaking as is the impeccable service.
I’ve heard about this restaurant for years so I had to go when I got to Positano. It’s exquisitely beautiful. Food was quite good. Terribly overpriced but I knew that going in. But the service was just horribly haughty. We were treated like homeless people.
Friends we traveled it ranked it the worst experience of our two-week Italy trip.
Skip it.

The restaurant it's closed from 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm
This family owned traditional Restuarant has a stunning view and truly is a local spot. Definitely not a tourist hype. The family have owned this Restuarant for decades and are welcoming and friendly. The food is not fancy or westernized but wholesome and definitely worth a visit.

We were considering cancelling half our Positano holiday and returning to Roma early after a spectacular month long holiday in Europe. We just loved the food, culture (and the prices) in Roma, Florence and Venice.. However after disappointment in taste and price at other restaurants in Positano, da Ferdinando delivered us real, raw and authentic Positano hospitality that did not make us feel like we were sitting in the middle of a tourist trap for the rich and famous. Loved it! Friendly and fun, great basic Italian food run by a friendly local family, dogs running around and standard prices for beach chairs with a running tab. Loved the pizza. Strong limoncello spritz to dull the pain of the 450 stair climb that awaits you if you're staying up the hill like us at Hotel Villa Gabrisa.
We will be return every day until we leave! Fabulous find thanks to a fellow Brisbane reviewer.
Grazie mille

Our dinner was great along with its amazing view of Positano it was a wonderful experience. My wife had scallops as a starter and I had grilled octopus in a potato purée. Both excellent. She got the Ravioli and I got the Risotto. Both really YUM. We had a local white wine with our meal. We shared a piece of their lemon cake with cappuccino for dessert. A definite .
