Fen restaurant is closed permanently.

Fen - low-lying flat coastal land. Our small restaurant in seaside Port Fairy was formerly known as The Stag Restaurant. We have been open since March 2015 and have recently re-branded to Fen Restaurant in March 2016. Fen's brand of modern dining combine innovative native ingredients with more traditional produce to create food that is uniquely Australian. Our drinks list is exclusively Australian and favours small-batch, handmade, low intervention, often organic or bio-dynamic wines and spirits.
Very small and intimate space which I like. Only option is a degustation or tasting menu which I am not a big fan of but when in Rome? Don't come here if you are budget conscious. The staff were excellent as was their knowledge of the dishes and the wine list. We chose the tasting menu which was quite extensive and for filling at the end. Dishes ranged from an excellent eel dish to a fantastic blue eye dish to a wonderful marshmallow dessert. We thought all dishes were great but would like to revisit and have a standard three course meal based on what we ate. Very good.

The Merrijig Kitchen is open for dinner from 6pm Thursday to Monday. The menu is written daily taking inspiration from the seasons and 'what's good' in the kitchen. Tanya takes care and effort to source produce locally and is always found foraging at the local farmer's market in Port Fairy on weeeknds, gathering supplies that suppliement our own vegie garden. A network of local & regional suppliers keep the Merrijig Kitchen menu vibrant and ever-changing: Sue from Shaw River dropped in. She had made the buffalo mozzeralla and then delivered it to the kitchen still warm! Mt Zero, in the Grampians - we use pulses, extra virgin olive oil, olives and the really exciting thing - we use the local salt. We are expecting a Delivery of their new extra virgin olive oil pressings soon! Greenvale Meats: Anthony delivered pigs heads & trotters after the Port Fairy market on Saturday. It was great to talk to him about his quest for rare-breed charchuterie! Ken - grows GREAT veg - 'for a Collingwood Supporter'- that Tower Hill volcanic soil is INCREDIBLE! The boys from Quinlan Butchers in Koroit - quality local livestock, butchered with skill & care. Kaz's Googs - free range eggs from Heywood
This claims to be Victoria's oldest inn. Dinner is in two sittings and booking is essential. The menu features produce grown in their kitchen garden. The food was excellent and the wine list even better: the Bool Lagoon 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon was exceptional. Small number of covers creates an intimate atmosphere and the service is attentive and friendly.

New restaurant owned by Thai chef and his Australian wife. They moved from Sydney to start this restaurant as they originate from this area.
Excellent meal. Extremely good value for money. Extensive menu to suit all tastes.
We went early January and was very busy so would recommend booking a table.
Very busy time of year and very noisy which for us did spoil the occasion a little.
Perhaps a table outside might have been quieter. All in all thought would most definitely recommend this Thai restaurant.

I enjoyed a lamb/roasted sweet potato salad. It was delicious and the arugula was crisp and the dressing was a perfect compliment . My husband had there soup of the day and it was just ok. It was missing some spices??? Everything else looked very good.

Clonmara is a rare and special blend of country style boutique accommodation that is located just moments to heritage listed Port Fairy township and stunning coastal Beaches and walks. The main house or Country House as we like to refer to it and the Clonmara Stone Cottage were built in circa 1855 and exudes all the warmth and charm of a by gone era. They are beautifully presented, have all the creature comforts of modern day life plus more and we are so excited to be offering them for guests to enjoy. The outbuildings that we also offer consist of four separate cottages that co-exist within the beautiful Gardens and four acres. At Clonmara we want to say that your stay and experience is our priority. We are on hand nearby for any assistance and to offer our laid back country lifestyle we enjoy so much...but we also respect your privacy and each guests preferences and will work to accommodate you in whatever way is best for you. Please come, stay and enjoy this special place.
Love going to Clonmara for breakfast, lunch or coffee and scones.
Best chai latte I've ever had

There was a small line to order the food, however during Xmas holiday time when I rocked up at 6:30pm it was extremely busy. I would give it at least a 30 to 40 minute wait, but it's worth it. The beach is right there so it's worth going for a walk. If you turn up late, they keep your order hot under a bain marie anyway.
The fish was fresh & the batter was crunchy, nothing was too oily or fatty, and in the midst of the big fat chips I was given a bunch of small crunchy chips which I love.

Really warm and some of the options weren’t big enough for a pram!
The hub was great! Sat on done couches, but cooler than outside!
Great wraps and iced coffees!
Worth a visit for lunch, friendly staff and reasonably priced in comparison with other eateries on offer!

Direct trade speciality Coffee and Chocolate. Cartel roasters coffee.
A simple coffee shop with a small selection of (excellent) cakes. Clearly run by a very knowledgeable coffee enthusiast who produced excellent coffee. Would be nice if they also had some simple food so that breakfast and/or lunch was an option and offered another chance to enjoy their coffee.

Fresh seasonal menus for breakfast and lunch, fresh roasted award winning Mahalia Coffee, housemade cakes and slices, fully licensed, free wifi and great relaxed atmosphere set in the heart of Port Fairy! Open 7 days a week from 7:30am outside and inside dining, bookings welcome
Stopped in Port Fairy for a quick visit and a coffee and picked Rock Salt after an amble down the main street. Good coffee and excellent savoury muffins - way above average.
Nice coffee shop with solid local traffic, which is always a positive indicator with a restaurant.
