I had the menu del peregrino for 10 euros including a glass of wine. The food was superbe. The owner is a great friendly guy. It is a relaxed and pleasant place to go after walking or biking the camino. I highly reccomend.

This is one of the hidden gems of Ponferrada. Located opposite the castle, it offers tasty food at very democratic prices. The wine recommendations (including local wines from star winemakers such as Raúl Pérez) were fantastic, and so was the Executive Menu (a steal at €20). There is a cheaper €12 menu which is just as good. Highly recommended if you want to eat out in style in this pleasant town without breaking the bank.

A classic Ponferrada with a traditional and high quality cuisine. A nice gastronomic experience with lots of variety in a cozy place with a lot of identity.
Really good food and a great location for lunch. We loved the waiters who helped us a lot. At night they have la liga on telly which is very spanish.

Friend potatoes with hot sauce ... Wonderful ... Mussels with hot sauce ... Divine. This is a great place to try these two dishes. You'll be amazed how good they taste. Simply Fantastic !

The restaurant is housed in a large stone house, next to the town's church. Classy decoration, excellent service, and delicious food. And, remarkable, we paid €17.50 per person, which is nearly the same you pay for a menu in less deserving places. I highly recommend it, and will certainly go back. All was very good, but desserts were heavenly.
Try coffee custard with chocolate ice cream and vanilla ice cream with caramelized chestnuts. Unbelievable.

We got there on a Wednesday night closer to 10 pm. We were welcomed by the chef/owner, Dani.
We ordered a bottle of a local winery, and Dani provided a small plate with roasted veggies, while we waited for our dinner. My husband ordered the setas (mushrooms), and I ordered the mussels. Both plates were not only delicious, but also different from all traditional plates offer everywhere else locally. Then he presented us with a "parilla" , an assortment of meats ( chicken, veal, and beef). The meats were cooked to perfection, and the smoke flavor from the real wood fire grill was out of this world!
For dessert, I had the homemade oanacota, and my husband had the vanilla mouse. These dessert belong to a 5 stars restaurant.
If you are looking for something different and high quality, and also reasonable, this is the place to go!

Overnight stop in Ponferrada found us eating here on our wedding anniversary evening.
What can we add to confirm how excellently we were treated. From Annah, who went out of her way to interpret the menu into English, to the helpfulness of everyone else there. You can tell this is a family run place, the customer comes 1st &, happily, there is nothing forced about it. They genuinely want you to enjoy everything. By the way, the food is top class too ! Hats raised to the '7 Sillas' , & a hearty ' thank you' from us both. For the first time ever I would have awarded more than 5 stars.
