This restaurant is in the Barca de Oro Hotel in Las Peñitas, Nicaragua. I wanted to leave a review about it and not the hotel because I did not stay in the hotel.
We loved the fresh juice and Nica breakfast. My husband really loves their pancakes. He got them last year when we visited, and he raved about them for a full year. He was so excited that they were just as he remembered them when we returned this year.
Plus, the service is great.

Classic French boulangerie and patisserie located in the historic center of León. All products are made fresh every day by our own team of bakers. A fresh and tranquil patio where you can escape from León's heat. Enjoy your coffee and croissant in the morning, a fresh juice and Sandwich, quiche or salad for lunch, or indulge in a coffee and pastry to satisfy your sweet tooth. Relaxed atmosphere at night for a light diner or to savor our selection of cheeses, cold cuts and (French) wines.
The Nicaraguan coffee is excellent. The pastries are quite good, and the smoothies are worth a try. Good location across from the Best Western.

If you stay in their lodge it's the only place to eat. The food is good but priecy. I didn't experience to long waiting times. Eveb around seven when everybody was ordering it took max 20min. The beers are 1.35$.

I was GRANDPAcking in Las Penitas for 6 nights.
The locals recommended Comedor Bertha for a seafood meal.
We turned up and had a lobster meal each.
Mine was done in garlic butter.
My son's was grilled.
We each got 3 medium sized lobsters. It was a big meal.
We paid N$330 each.

Ate here a few times as its a cross from our hotel. The owner was really nice and the staff were attentive. They have wifi and make great limonada mexicana. The fried shrimp (camarone empanizida) were my favorite. I didn't like the fish tacos however as they had a lot of fish bones in them. All in all a nice spot for a meal and the coldest beers we have had !

El Bodegón is a Latin Fusion restaurant offering Cuban food with a Nicaraguan twist as well as inventive plates from the chef. Our menu varies daily but we always offer options such as pork, chicken, fish and vegetarian. We offer a wonderful selection of blended cocktails with our most popular being the Cuban Frozen Mojito. Come enjoy our cozy atmosphere with a blend of Latin music and positive vibes!
Serves up the best Cuban frozen mojitos (70 Cordobas). It’s a refreshing ice blended drink that is as fun and exciting as salsa dancing in Havana. Dinner is a simple menu of main plates (205 Cordobas). I had the pollo jalapeño with yucca which was fantastically flavorful and filling. Has indoor space and an outdoor patio Seating area.

Welcome to the most recent branch of the family-owned, Matagalpa based craft ice cream company, 'Kiss Me.' Here in Leon you'll find all the popular hit flavours that made the Matagalpa store nationally famous such as: Blueberry Lavender, Dark Chocolate (with 70% cacao), Cheesecake Guava, etc. Come by our shop to sample these and or constantly changing seasonal flavors. See you soon!
We stopped off here on the recommendation of our tour guide. There are no tables inside but it’s a good place to come and buy some takeaway ice cream. The guy who runs it was a nice guy and there is a good range of ice creams to choose from either with a cone or tub. Great on a hot day!

We stumbled on this restaurant by accident. We initially popped in just to get a cold drink but the women who were working there were so sweet and helpful that we promised we would return for a meal. We ordered the camarones a ajillo (shrimp with garlic). It took awhile to prepare but it was well worth it. My girlfriend and I split the meal. The portions were very large. After we each took a bite, we looked at each other and both started raving about how good it was. Seriously, if you like garlic, this is the dish for you. It comes in a white cream sauce. Wow, we were eating it like soup. It also comes with rice, fried plantains, and a tasty salad. We almost licked the plate clean! While we were eating, one of the women working there asked to take our photo and then took our email address promising to send us a copy. The Nicaraguan people have all been friendly and sweet but these women were exceptional. Give this place a try. I don't know the address but it is towards the north end of Poneloya just around the corner before the hill going up. There is a fresh fruit stand out front.
