We had a blast one morning when we stumbled across Dona Rosita. We were served by our awesome waiter who was learning English and was very kind and helpful. He and his friend and guitarist Leo put on a fabulous concert, singing and dancing with a lovely young lady. It was really fab! The breakfast met the Cuban standard - omelette, fresh fruit, fresh guava jam, guava juice, and bread. We were really happy to stop off there.

This was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip in Cuba. We had a whole grilled fish that was shared among 5 people and was truly spectacular. The view is beautiful and the people that work there were great as well....MoreDear, Dctrubin, Thank you for your opinion, we like to know that everyone was satisfied. That is precisely our purpose. When you like, we are waiting for you with pleasure. See you soon!

We had lunch at "CHUCHI EL GORDO" in Playa Larga when we took a day-trip to to the "other coast" from Varadero. I have to say this was the best meal we had in Cuba! The restaurant is small, intimate and family run. Everything was fresh, succulent and delicious!
Our lunch consisted of lobster, white fish, crocodile tail, salad, rice w/beans and fried green bananas. Everything was incredible, and we especially enjoyed the crocodile tail which we had never tried before.
The owners were friends of our guide and we were treated to a personal tour of the kitchen to see how our meal was prepared. This is restaurant is definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and I fully recommend it.
The price for our huge meal (we couldn't finish) and 2 beer was $32.50 CUC so it's also a very good value.

We were here with a Nat Geo tour for lunch. Excellent food and service. We would have loved to stay there and the guests coming in from the beach seemed to be enjoying themselves. Plentiful and nicely prepared. Clean bathrooms and clearly a very dedicated owner and his family.

The food was fresh, well prepared and served with efficiency. My husband and I split a mixed seafood dish and, not only was it delicious, there was plenty of food for both of us.

We stopped her after visiting the hummingbird house which was a highlight of our whole trip. From the outside this looks like an ordinary house and inside the graffiti covered walls make you feel a little uneasy if you are used to European restaurants. The food however is fantastic, plates of fresh seafood (lobster, octopus, prawns and fish) cooked in front of us. A local band turned up and the whole atmosphere was great.

This Casa particular run by Ivette & Arnaldo is right on the beach, with a courtyard & bar. The room is basic, clean with pirate bathroom & shower. 1 double bed & single & in the room so we put the suitcases on the single. There are 2 other rooms, 1 with patio dorrs ( beach view). Breakfast good omettes ( tortillas) etc. Dinner was very good, tasty especially by Cuban standards. Great club tuna toasted Sandwich for lunch, a welcome relief, fresh fish & Langousta for dinner. There's a nice outside bar & in the evening musician play ( for a tip) good atmosphere, good food & lovely people . We would come back here

Friendly, loads of food, cook to order. Loved the plateful of crab meat. Lobster, beef, chicken, anything you want with lots of sides including fruit plate, rice, plantain, vegetables. Probably something thrown in at the end as well. Dinners are 8 CUC and beer 1.5 CUC. There is wine also, but taste it first. Went back to this restaurant twice more with friends and just enjoyed the whole experience.
You'll find it on the left side of the road leaving Playa Larga heading north.

Our group ate lunch there one day, and the food was excellent. best meal of the week. There were something like 6 options, any of which could be combined, and the servings were plentiful. We ate on the covered patio in a rainstorm, and the service had to come across an open space, so the staff organized an umbrella system to keep the food dry.

Dreading another buffet meal in the Hotel Playa Larga restaurant we wandered out and asked around where we could find a restaurant. The hotel gateman pointed 50 yards across the road and we couldn't believe we hadn't found it sooner.
Excellent food, great service and fair prices.
If you spend any time in Playa Larga have at least one meal here.
