Elderly chef and nice waitress operate this unpretentious restaurant. We had small local fish available with various sauces. Choice of garnishments: mashed potatoes, fries, salad or mashed calabasa. Inexpensive house wine is adequate. Taste and quality of food is barely adequate. We do not plan to return.

I would personally rate this restaurant number 1, undoubtedly top of the list. Quiet and cosy, it's located opposite the beach. Soft music, wonderful ambiance and good vibrations! But above all, the warmth of our waiter, MAXIMILIANO. He would not intrude but he would be waiting at our table, taking care of all details and making sure we were enjoying our meal. Go for the menu of the day (usually fresh fish) or pasta. You won't be disappointed. If you're not very hungry, you'd better share your dish, you can order one and share between two as they serve gigantic helpings. This way, you can also save some money. Good money for value!!!

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Drakar. Too bad it is only open on weekends at this time of year. We had the tourist menu, which included mussels, and a very fresh white fish with creamy "Drakar" sauce, and flan for dessert. Service was very good, even though they spoke limited English, and we spoke even more limited Spanish. This is the best restaurant we have found in Piriapolis!

there are unforgetable meals and this sweet, small, amazing restaurants has given us more than ameal but an experience of generosity and quailty that we wont ever forget.
Starting from Fernando , that everything his hands touch is impecable and from an open heart, we we're welcomed with free openers . we were let to feel at home with the great decor of the house and the sweet huerta and finally the fish, the vegetables and the Calzone we're the most delicious we ever had!

El Ranchonda, an excellent restaurant to visit, located in Punta Negra, Maldonado, Uruguay has the style and the service quality I enjoy when dinning out. The green, silent environment with separated areas where you can have your lunch or dinner while maintaining a private conversation without interaction with other customers, invite to serenity and relax and creates an atmosphere of peace. Indoors, air conditioning offers an option for January's torrid days. Service is not fast, but nobody goes there in a rush. Food of superb quality (with a special mention to pasta and seafood combinations) is prepared on sight. Personnel is incredibly kind and helpful. Last but not least, hygiene is first grade in the kitchen, clothing and bathrooms. Frequently they offer live music, there in the garden, to complete an beautiful experience.

Had a nice coffee here on a windy and rainy day. Was good to get out of the wind but still sit by the window and see people pass by. On the Main Street just near the water and looked to offer good food options as well. Free wifi makes it the perfect escape from the sun, wind or in between swims.

We arrived mid afternoon and the restaurant was packed. We were seated after 5 mins and ordered the Gnocchi that was delicious with melted cheese inside with a sauce that was tasty and creamy. We ordered the sushi of 12 combination that was fresh and tasty, and then the 4 cheeses that were encased in filo pastry. We also had the lasagne de mar that was also like it was home-made. Views of the ocean were lovely and really relaxed vibe. The service for food to arrive was a little slow given the full house but worth the wait.
