Small place, with a great food, wine list, desserts and service. It is a small place and it is convenient to reserve. Definitely a recommendation.

I must say I was in doubt over giving it 3 or 4 stars. It is an interesting experience for those not used to food from this region, and considering the overpriced options around it is reasonably priced (R$ 34). Problem is there is nothing really remarkable here, other than maybe the wild pig. It boast having "100 dishes and 40 desert options", but most of them are simple salads, french fries or fried yucca and basic sweets. Charging R$ 4 (mandatory) for the not-so-good live music is not very nice either.
One curious thing is that you can leave the restaurant and come back for more at any time the same day (place opens from 12 to 5 pm).

I noticed that several people who just preceded me in their comments got some points absolutely in synch with me - starting with the access, which is a bit dangerous - fortunately, it's not too busy a road, but if you are coming from Pirenópolis by car (as most customers certainly are), you must take great care to enter.
Secondly, it is pretty astounding, though not uncommon in Pirenópolis, that credit or even debit cards are not accepted. It limits what one eats, in some ways, as, like so many wrote, prices are actually almost prohibitive. Though the food is good, it's just not necessarily worth it to drive out of town, where there are some equally good or possibly better eateries, to spend money on food which, except for the dessert, is more Brazilian or even international, than actually authentic local cuisine.
Yes, service was well-done - our waiter gave us a useful suggestion to change a side-order for our fish dish (peixada - which was with sea fish, which I prefer, but is not really local, as just stated) from pirão to some tasty potatoes with peppers and garlic. And Yes, the historic items and decorations reminded my wife of when she grew up next door to her parents' general store, which is what Venda do Bento years before becoming a restaurant. There are definitely some nice photo ops.
Last but not least, though we cannot necessarily attribute it to the food at this locale, my wife did have an unusual tummy ache not too long after our meal there. Unfortunately, in her mind at least, it will be forever connected to this restaurant.

VagaFogo is a ecological sanctuary near the town of Pirenopolis here in Goias, Brazil. We took a group of 23 Wisconsin folks here this morning for the brunch and a walkabout of the grounds, which includes some exotic flora and possible monkey sightings. The the brunch is served in courses with all manner of jams, breads, meats, chutneys, and countless flavorings, all delicious and authentic. Well worth the visit and R$52 per person. Highly recommend you try it - we will be back.

Very good representation of Brasilain comfort food; and that should be taken as a big plus. When ordering chicken, ypu get the real deal this is true free range not something from a corporate farm.
As soon as you can enter this place you can tell its family run. You will most likely be served by the owner (who speaks great english) or his daughter (not so great). Don't come to this place in a hurry - best to order or bring some wines (they won't charge corkage) as the food will take its time. This is because they literally need the dough to make all the dishes while you wait - it's truly worth it. The ambience feels much more warm and hearty then the places right on the tourist strip. We can with friends who are regulars and visit this place on each visit to Pirri.

Though I wouldn't recommend this as a top place to eat in Piri, I would easily suggest you go have lunch at least once if you are staying more than just a weekend in town. First of all, unlike many higher-rated restaurants, this one is open daily. Secondly, the owner is truly a nice lady. Third, the food is a good quality, very Brazilian, all-you-can eat buffet at a very affordable price range. Last but not least, is the laid back ambiance a bit away from the street - which is one of the busier and more interesting ones if you are shopping for local clothes and arts.
Apparently the location is also known for nice music at night and I noticed that some of the waiters are really into rock n'roll.

Down on restaurant row in Pirenopolis Dill is a great option with a great selection of authentic brazillian seafoods and steak plates. Huge beer selection as well.

We saw this on trip advisor and it was as good as everyone reported. The quality of the food was excellent as was the price and presentation. Its location away from the main eating area sitting outside was a bonus, and it was our favourite restaurant of all those visited here
