from my blogspot (amoreperilcaffe) - It was high time for another coffee and another review as I went in to a famous establishment in Malta, Busy Bee in Msida. By all means, one would enter into a coffee shop with a wishful list of thoughts, yet my first and most essential thought is COFFEE in a coffee shop.
I ordered a lungo with a sincere hope to calm down after a busy day, longing for good taste and quality coffee service. I would like to reiterate what I said in my first review ... this is by no means a judgement on the establishment's quality or service, but on the quality of coffee at a particular point in time.
The espresso I was served with was not at all up to scratch for what one would expect. Firstly, the tazzina was too full for an espresso lungo - thus meaning that the taste will surely not be optimal either. Also, due to the lost cream (because of excessive erogation), the server's movement caused the presentation to be ruined.
This establishment serves Saquella, a very common brand name in Maltese coffee shops. On the whole - though not my favourite - this coffee brand serves good coffee when properly brewed. Yet I'm sorry to say that at Busy Bee this time round was not well prepared and definitely not well served.
PLEASE guys, do take care of the treasure you have in your hands. Good coffee is an experience and I (and most probably every coffee lover) surely don't like it when I'm denied this experience because some lack of experience or careless preparation.
Finally, allow me to suggest a very common suggestion applicable to most of Malta's coffee shops ... serving water when such a coffee is served. Thank you.

We were invited to this place that we surprisingly didn't know yet. Everything was perfect from start to finish. The service and reception were very friendly, the food, fish and meat was sumptuous, a real discovery for us. Raw fish, langoustines, oysters, fish cake. Delicious ribeye better than in the best restaurants and excellent desserts which was a good surprised as usually the desserts in Malta are not among the best.
We will return with great pleasure.

Dimitri is situated in this 400 year old building located next to the Auberge de Castille. Offering a quite ambience & serving a twist of Mediterranean, new British, Italian & Spanish cuisine. A straightforward menu, offering daily local fresh produce of fresh fish, meat & pasta with a good range of local and foreign wines from all over the world.
We stopped by here on a Saturday evening without a reservation, but Dimitri’s was full. The friendly maître d' looked apologetic but promptly offered us the chance to book, and we are very glad he did. Three nights later we were back for one of...MoreThank you Deborah.

Amorino Gelateria serve typical Italian fashion gelato and sorbets. We use only the freshest free range organic eggs and the highest grade whole milk. Absolutely no coloring agent or artificial flavours will be found in our gelato - this is one of Amorino's fundamental principles. Enjoy traditional Italian coffee, gourmet drinks, hot chocolates or teas together with a crépe or a waffle or why not try out our gelato macarons. In the mornings we serve freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolat.
Fabulous! I had the coffee, caramel and chocolate. I'd happily be a regular if only I had an Amorino near me. Absolutely delicious, smooth and delightfully presented.

Fumia Restaurant, set right on the sea's edge in Pieta Creek which was formally known as the Custom's boathouse, offers a unique fine dining experience. The Sicilian cuisine specializes in fresh fish caught daily, along with fresh side dishes and in house prepared mouthwatering Deserts. A vast range of Sicilian and local wines compliment the menu. Fumia is located between the 'pinetum' just outside Valletta's bastions and Pieta Creek, thus offering unique environs, with the freshness of pine trees on one side and the serenity and relaxing ambiance of the sea on the other side. Food is served in the welcoming and stylish interior whereby the panoramic wall to wall glass panes create the feeling of dining literally 'on the water's edge', just a few inches away from the calm Pieta sea and in the spacious outside Terrace, whereby both bestow the favourite Mediterranean 'al fresco' feel. For the last 11 years, Fumia Restaurant has been consistently rated as one of the best fish restaurants in Malta. Fumia offers discreet yet perfectly attentive service allowing customers their privacy and time to enjoy their dining experience.
A lovely restaurant with great oysters (huge and tasty) and fish. Great pasta starters also (no urchins the night we were there but the spaghetti vongele were outstanding!). We had sea-bream, fresh as they come and perfectly grilled (as well as beautifully prepared and presented) and sea-bass (baked in salt and subsequently flambee’d: tender and tasty). Great bread, olive oil, salads, Sicilian wine and .. Deserts. Good, professional and friendly service. A Malta address to note and to remember!! We shall be back!

Caffe Berry is the cafè for coffee lovers . Offer large selection of coffee, tea and helthy and natural snack.
Was staying at the Two Pillows Hostel which is about a minutes walk from this cafe.
Visited Caffe Berry twice for breakfast coffee and muffins.
Caffe Berry is small, couple of chairs outside, so better suited if you want a take away.
Coffee and muffins were excellent.
Staff were friendly.
Would happily use again.

Lovely unpretentious atmosphere in this excellent gin cocktail bar. The staff really know all the 220 gins and have great suggestions. They are knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Alexa, from Canada, is a mixologist extraordinaire. Seek her out for a great cocktail.
Tapas is delicious here as well
Don’t miss this bar!!

Sotto pizzeria italiana, rising up a72 hours, a mixture of selected 4 flour to eat the real Roman pizza. Sotto pizzeria italianaSouth Street in Valletta, 32.
If you visit Valetta it would be a shame if you wouldn't visit Sotto. One of the best pizza in the world. Best ingredients. Beautiful interior. Kind and easygoing staff.
We tried one with pork cheek and parmigiano and one with Parma ham. Both outstanding. Delicious. Perfect.
And then tiramisu, light as the air. Perfect end of fantastic late lunch.
Highly recommended experience.
