We enjoyed our dinner at Kornat. Our waiter Tony was especially friendly and helpful. The food was good - not the best, but beautifully presented. The vibe of the restaurant seemed a bit tired to us. They had 80's music playing too loud - Lionel Ritchie - you couldn't talk over the music. They turned it down upon our request which was an improvement. It's a nice setting if you're looking for seaside views.

We had our family lunch here, the stuffed squid, squid ink risotto, scampi, amd lamb chops, all dishes excellent quality and stunning flavours, best food we ate in Croatia by far. The atmosphere was simple and authentic, vine shaded courtyard ticked away in a side street. Thank you this was a highlight of our trip.

Restaurant Kastel was recommended to me by a colleague who had previously visited. I emailed the restaurant prior to my holiday to make a reservation and got a reply that same day.
The restaurant is inside Hotel Bastion and away from the main streets of Old Town Zadar (opposite the Garden Lounge).
The restaurant is lovely inside with indoor Seating only, although top level has huge no folding windows which were open giving the feeling that you were Sat outdoors.
All wait/hotel staff were super friendly and attentive. The food was incredible. My mother and I had 2 small plates and 2 main meals as the menu all sounded delicious.
We ate tagliatelle with shrimp (best dish), lamb stew with polenta and for main beef cheek and potato gratin and beef fillet steak.
All meals are served as described, no extra veg etc and none available to order. The portion sizes are small but rich so you don't need anymore.
We had several glasses of red wine
We didn't have room for dessert
The 4 dishes and wine cost £80 in total
In my opinion this was the best meal we had during our entire trip to Croatia, little on the expensive side but worth every penny

Arrived just after 1. Took 10 - 15 mins to order, 2 kids meals and 2 vegetarian spaghetti and some chips. Kids.meals didn't arrive until after 2, and then another 5 mins to get the spaghetti. Spaghetti and chips were both undercooked which is surprising considering how long it took. Spaghetti tasted like a packet sauce mix and didn't have any veg on it. Better meals available elsewhere for the same price.

We had dinner here on our first night in Kozino, and i must say we set our standards very high after Stari Mrace. The playground was a delight for the little onces and the food came quick.
The staff was really nice and helpfull and we had a great time.
The fish was really fresh.
Must go if you are close by.

- ok service (although rather casual and relaxed)
- freshly made pasta
- no tourist trap
- reasonable prices
- rather small and charming (outside Seating available)
- They have a small parking lot, however, it is hard to get a parking space when the restaurant is crowded (which is the case most of the time)

If nothing else, the smell will stop you at Franko. It is very charming places where you're sitting under a pergola, and bunches of grapes are hanging above you. At the entrance is some folk art statue, a couple with a carriage pulled by donkeys. Outside there's a huge grill and a whole suckling pig is turning around, spreading mouth-watering fragrances around. It urges you to get in, even if you aren't hungry. We were hooked and entered. At that time just a very few customers have been there,-as shown on my photos - and plenty of unoccupied tables were waiting for us. These were the good sides. The bad was, that the service was polite, but awfully slow. The waiter and waitress went to the tables in some kind of random selection. People who arrived much later then us were able to have their order taken and were served, while the two of us were just sitting and waiting like two invisible idiots, waiting for the favour of the waiting staff. Because of that matter, I never ever would put my feet into this restaurant again. There's no good food what can compensate this rude careless service..
Obviously other diners were less sensitive or just luckier, since the restaurant filled up completely very soon.
When finally a waiter was kind enough to take our orders we ordered a Fish plate for two people and garden salad.
The plate contained white fish, scampi, squid, shellfish and spinach. The display was very appetizing- especially after an hour wait- and my only problem with it, that it was soaking in oil. Maybe this is how most of the customers like it. Anyway I was in a desperate mode enough that time, to try the Sex on the beach.
And yes, it was good.

We have eaten in this restaurant variety of food. Came in without reservation. Our waiter was very friendly and nice, and the overall staff was very fast in preparation of excellent food (we were very hungry).
We didn't wait much and didn't pay much, but had an excellent meal with excellent service. What else can a hungry traveller ask for?
Keep up the good work.
