This restaurant is a pleasant change from the many franchised chains or gastro pubs, you are greeted in a nice lounge/bar area where you can sit and have a pre-dinner drink whilst Reading the menu. The dinning area is pleasant and you feel like you...MoreThank you for your generous comments; we look forward to welcoming you back to our restaurant which, incidentally, has been under the same ownership for twenty three years.

Not been here for years. Food is pretty good. A good selection of curries. Starters nice. The mixed starter was nearly a main in own right. Mains did take a little time to come but very tasty. Prices pretty standard for Peterborough. Service friendly.

Walking to the Nene Railway looking for somewhere for a light lunch. The Beehive met our requirements. Ale on tap and we had a starter each for lunch - deep fried whitebait and king prawns both were excellent. Lovely lady looked after us, Well worth a visit. Toilets were spotless!

Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar also serving freshly made cocktails near Peterborough. 5 minuets from the A1.
Beautiful Restaurant and Lovely Tasting Food - Oh and Great Cocktails Also so fab fun night catching up with special friends.
The Olives were Devine as was their Garlic & Cheese flatbread and their Mozzarella which was especially nice The cheesy mushrooms a first for me but very nice.
My partner who likes his steak rare said it was truly a mouthwatering juicey Rib Eye.
They even managed to make the chicken Pollo Parolaccia spicy just for me and it was delicious with light fluffy crispy potatoes crispy sweet salad I think with oregano or rosemary in potatoes either way Very Very nice and I’m a fussy eater!
The Wine also Very Nice bottle of Sauv Blanc and reasonably priced but the Mango Cocktail was fabulous!
Great Ambiance but wish they had a little music
finally whilst Service very Good not ideal waiting for all the drinks to arrive at the same time pre Food that’s my only issue waited 10mins for a Diet Coke when all the alcoholic drinks arrived before otherwise everything was perfect but they were busy.
Will definitely go back when we next visit.
Thankyou

Maria and the chef did a fantastic job for our private party, with an epic buffet table groaning with food of every kind. Believe me, you have no idea how good doughballs can be until you've eaten Vesuvio's. They're unique.
Great service in every aspect and delicious pasta, pizza, charcuterie and too many dishes to name here.

Visited with friends stopped in for a quick lunch. The decor was a bit strange but interesting it didn’t fill with confidence . The food however was really surprisingly good ( not what we we expecting) generous portions and very well presented . Friendly staff. Will definitely return.

We are a country pub in the beautiful village of Barnack, a short distance from Stamford. Our aim is to serve freshly prepared, locally sourced food where possible and cooked to order. Oliver the owner chef is very passionate in what he produces and has created a menu that has pub classics as well as some finer dishes for that special occasion. We are not a fast food outlet so bear with us at busy times. We have just had a make over and are thrilled with the results.
Booked a family meal(8 people) on a Saturday evening at this pub and we weren't disappointed.Warm welcome and allowed us to pick where we sat (lovely little private alcove).Chatty atmosphere, very good food(excellent choice on the menu),large portions, well kept beer and competitive prices.
Highly recommend you call in,we will definitely visit again.

Five of us went hungry, was told it was great here home cooked food so was really looking forward to it .
Food is quite pricey but really don't mind if it's home cooked....no specials board....
Service was quick but waitress wasn't friendly...
I asked if the children's pasta came with veg or garlic bread to revive a rather curt no....children's menu limited... one choice of pudding...
Our food arrived quickly.... portions are small and posh piles... my son's pasta didn't have any cheese... it was a small bowl of tomatoe and pasta sauce... the price didn't warrant the amount and no veg??
We all ate our rather small portions quickly ... we didn't or puddings or another drink....
Disappointed

We were in Whittlesey on what is probably the busiest Saturday in the year as it was the Straw Bear festival. We tried 3 other places for lunch and each time walked in and walked straight out again. I had spotted Fontanella's earlier in the day and thought if nothing else we might get a good cup of coffee.
They were very busy but the staff were welcoming, unflustered and soon found us a table. It's not a large menu but all 4 of us found things that we fancied. We were served quickly and the food and drinks were all excellent. Tasty Bread and butter pudding and a dense (in a good way) Chocolate Torte to finish made us decide to come back later for afternoon tea!
So we were back for more tasty home cooked cakes (at very reasonable price) later in the day - all delicious and served with a smile.
Finding Fontanella's made our day. As it's a family run business it is important to every member of staff that it is successful so they all work hard to make sure it is.
Already planning for next year's Straw Bear Festival and a trip to this delightful family run concern.

Where to start....
Perfect in every way, nothing was too much trouble, all of my needs and requests were willingly catered for.
We werer offered a private function room to accommodate our guests (at no extra charge).
All staff members and management are very welcoming and attentive.
I would certainly recommend the Black Horse wether it's a drink in the huge garden, romantic/family dining/snuggling by the fire in the snug area or attending one of their functions.
