Our guide suggested we eat at this restaurant after visiting the fortress in Montecarlo. It was incredible and by far the best meal we've had in Italy, and we've been here two weeks. We ordered steak, tortelli, stuffed zucchini flowers, grilled vegetables, two different kinds of risotto, rabbit and a range of delicious desserts. Every dish was delicious. The meal started with the different kinds of bread, including a fried bread that was mouth watering delicious. If you're in the area, I can't imagine you'd get a better meal anywhere.

Lovely dinning room with view of glassed in kitchen. Great views of the lights in the valley below. Convenient parking.
It's evident that this is well run establishment from your first greeting to last goodbye, with Chef Antonio in the kitchen and wife running the dinning room. Staff is very professional, if at times a bit formal from one staff member.
We created our own "tasting menu" by sharing a dish from each course. The food was creative twists on classic Italian cuisine. Attention to every detail from excellent home made bread sticks, to little sweets with coffee.
Strong, broad wine list with good local selection which I would recommend if you don't know Montecarlo's excellent wines both white and red.
Surprisingly good value given the quality.

Once again I have visited this delightful local restaurant. I am never disappointed. The quality of the food is matched by the level of customer service. Whether you have for example pappardelle alla lepre or ravioli burro e salvia for starters you will be served with a large portion. Twice recently I have chosen the tagliata with Parmesan and rucola. Today there was no room for a sweet. All produce is locally sourced and cooked to perfection by the dedicated kitchen staff.
If you are in the area you should go. Remember to book in advance. The restaurant is very popular.

..Et but I think a lot of happiness to both homini that arise where there are good wines ... Leonardo da Vinci
We were highly recommended this Buggiano village restaurant (and there aren’t many about in this region) but somehow we never got to really taste the promised good local Italian pasta and general offerings. The service was rustique too and not very friendly apart from the waitress who tried really hard. Huge disappointment and have had better Italian food in loads of London restaurants. What happened to the original Italian local cuisine?

My girlfriend, her 2 teenage boys and myself ate here one night on our 10 night holiday as it was the local restaurant to where we were staying in Monte a Pescia.
Sadly as non Italians we felt a definite difference to how we were looked after compared to the locals. Even the menu we were given was different, and not just because we were given an English version. Our menu had no seafood options but we kept seeing seafood dishes being taken to other tables.
We found the staff a little bit obnoxious and rude so rather than question anything, we ordered, ate and left. The food we ordered was very nice though to be fair. It was just the whole atmosphere of the restaurant we didn't feel comfortable with.
However, there are so many lovely restaurants within a 10-15 minute drive, it didn't spoil our holiday.

This restaurant caters mainly for business dinners and couples. However, families are welcome and they make pasta al pomodoro on request for them. We had antipasti and pasta, and were offered pappa al pomodoro as a starter. The anti pasti were refined dishes, like a tarte and pate. The pasta was very good, not your standard ragu. The menu is equally devided between seafood and meat.
Prices are somewhat higher than at a trattoria, but the quality and finesse of the dishes is also better than most. Strangely, we weren't offered a wine list, we could just pick red or white (or sparkling, very popular amongst the couples). We drank a reasonable red wine.

Manero is a truly special place. Great food, great service, great view and location. Fabrizio and staff offer a wonderful experience, cooking with the freshest of ingredients. From the antipasti to the entrees, you will not make a bad choice in anything you choose to try. The Bistecca Fiorentina is a must try - cooked to perfection! We were here during wild boar and porcini mushroom season and the food choices did not disappoint. This trattoria is worth the trip up the mountain, if you aren't staying in Vellano.

We ate here on a weeknight and it was pretty quiet. We had our two young kids and were given the best table in the restaurant (rare) and overlooked the incredible villa Gardens! Truly spectacular. The food was excellent and well priced. A high end...MoreDear Stephen B, Thank you very much for everything you wrote. We are really happy to know that you spent a wonderfull night in our restaurant. We hope to see you and your family very soon. Kind regards. Irene & Iacopo

We've visited this restaurant several times during a three weeks vacation with our family. We have been there out of hot summer season time and noticed the difference only in terms of crowded atmosphere. Food was like always just delicious. Best pizza and pasta around for miles!

Cozy lovely atmosphere, you feel like you are at home!! Excellent food we ordered carbonara and abbacchio(lamb cutlets) with fried artichokes and a very yummy fresh ricotta and chocolate cake!! Food is fresh and tasty, service is top quality, house wine was lovely and they welcome you with a bruschetta and bread and REAL tuscan local olive oil...as a girl from Tuscany living in London I felt very good eating good quality food at reasonable price.
