Food throughout Italy is generally excellent and very regional, this restaurant surpasses the usual standard with the chef, Domenico, passionately illustrating the food of southern Italy. The dishes were all prepared immaculately and full of flavours of the south (we had the fish menu), whilst the dishes are larger than expected on a tasting menu, they were presented in a Michelin star style and packed with taste. The octopus was the most tender I have ever eaten! There were local specialties within the dishes such as Cime di Rapa and purred Favette which were new to us. The service and wine choices were also excellent, and above all the views are superb as the restaurant is perched 100m up a cliff overlooking the Adriatic. Providing you have no fear of heights, try to get an outside table. Definitely worth visiting if you are on the Gargano Peninsula.

Driving here is along and down cliffs and switchbacks. But it's worth every turn. From the moment you get there, the staff (all family) treat you like long lost relatives. Everything is explained patiently. After ordering, you sit at the side of the ocean for a few minutes...And then the fantastic food begins to arrive. Delicious fish and pastas. Cicatelli Vongole, Melanzane Ripiena. In a great atmosphere. The trabucco is a land-based fishing pier which you can visit just outside the restaurant.

Hidden gem underneath the olive trees! Just eat what they offer you! To start delicious mix of vegetables from their own garden, combined with a plate of local meat and cheese. Then pasta or fresh meat straight from the beautifull grill. Great service and a lot of local people so you know its very good.

Lovely location in the middle of Peschici where you can have some nice fish for dinner! The inside of the restaurant was brand new. The staff was professional and friendly. Food: we were in two and we shared one starter (l'antipasto del pirata 25€) with 12 different things, then a dish of homemade pasta with shellfish (~13€) and a red tuna chope with rocket sauce (~13€), plus some chips (5€) and still water. We paid around 30€ each. The dinner and the given service were impeccable!
Take a look or better... Take a bite at La Taverna!
Enjoy!!!

Sat down here for lunch one day last week. A man asked us if we just wanted a drink or eat too. we said both. There were people seated there long before us that had never been waited on. We sat for a good long while and he never came back. Don't know what the problem was but we got up and left. It was too bad because Ive read such great reviews. We returned several times never to find it open. Very odd!!

A very nice place with a marvelous welcoming! The italian cook is fabulous and gives you a large choice of what you can find in Italia and all is home-made! I loved their Lasagnas and Gnocchis!! We also had fresh and well-cooked fishes. We went back a few days later to taste their pizzas which were as delicious! I recommend for sure!!!

Typical Trattoria from Puglia, Home made cooking
Peschici is a nice tourstic village, hence full of tourists over the day - including us. They are all looking for a dinner place in the evening. Thus, many restaurants dont have to trie hard to find clients, particularly those located in the center. We ended up in the Costamarina not because of the Tripadvisor comments ranging from the usual "best food in entire Italy" (as if the experts had visited the entire country) to very sobering ones. We just could not find something else. The result was indeed very sobering. The place is nicely located with a smashing view from the Terrace, albeit a bit chaotic (the vacuum cleaner standing next to the bar). To make it short: the house wine is undrinkable as other comments already mentioned. I honestly wonder whether they try first what they sell. The Bruschetta was nice, fresh and Tasty. The Grigliata Mista di Pesche was fresh as well - although it does not take Paul Bocuse to barbecue fish and to put it on a plate. The Seppia alla Griglia was just uneatible. Whether it was grilled or not could not be identified since the entire plate was drenched in the black sepia ink - without any sense. It looked disgusting (see picture) and was oversalted. What about some basics in food presentation like putting the ink (if necessary at all) in a small filament over the food as they always do with the Aceto Balsamico? And then you read comments of an "ingenious cuisine"...my goodness! What eat these people at home?

Ice Cream Shop Located In The Ancient Village Of Peschici Hills National Park Grargano E A Point Reference For Those Looking For A Nice That Offers Ice Cream Tastes Very Special Fruit Of The Unique Tradition And Tipical Of The Gargano
Amazing creativity in flavours and a strong loyalty to local raw materials. In addition to the standards with chocolate, nuts, berries and fruits, you will find totally unusual taste combinations. How about blond beer ice cream, or cacioricotta (a local goat or sheep milk cheese) with red onion marmalade. Or 72% dark chocolate flavoured with cuban rum, vanilla and tobacco leaves! I have tried all of those, and other more run-of-the-mill flavours. The common denominator, however, is the purity, quality and freshness. Made daily in the back room.
And yes, they have gluten free

Specialità: pesce fresco e ottima cucina locale, cordialità e qualità. Aperti dal 2011. Pagamento bancomat e carta di credito.
Having spent a delightful day driving in the Gargagno, we came back to Peschici late in the afternoon. In spite of dinner plans, I was starving. I knew most places were already closed until dinner. However when we stopped at La Cantinetta ( as one enters town up from the road toward Vieste - sorry I have lost the exact address, it is opposite the cemetery), the very pleasant owner told us he could serve bruschetta or pasta.
Wow Bruschetta, my favorite. Trust me, never has one had it so good. There were several choices and for one can enjoy several in a mix and match way. Absolutely fresh and delicious ingredients including the unbelievable olive oil found in Puglia. The wine was local and tasty. In this no one is trying to impress. My partner had pasta, and it too was home made and fresh. We followed with coffee.
I wanted to come back over and over, especially because the host and his wife were so pleasant.
In spite of the late hour, we were not at all rushed. May I add that the facilities here were impeccably clean.

La cucina risente della vicinanza del mare e del profumo del Mediterraneo. Potrai trovare pesce fresco tutti i giorni, specialita della casa da gustare comodamente in un' ampia e lussuosa sala o sulla balconata che affaccia direttamente sul mare.
Best location, best meal, best crew and best boss! I've never been there and certainly I'll back. Thank you!
