Had lunch here when in Peebles for the afternoon. We were given a choice of Seating and opted for the conservatory (get the polycarbonate roof cleaned-it’s very dirty) our menus and drinks order arrived in reasonable time. I chose the 4 cheese macaroni with mini garlic loaf and my husband chose baked potato with haggis. At this point I would suggest a little more haggis and drop the grated cheese which is not required. I was stuffed full after my meal-even though it didn’t look like a huge portion. We both enjoyed our lunch and with tea and a Diet Coke for £20.50 it could be slightly cheaper. Staff were pleasant, so we really didn’t have much to complain about. We’ll most likely return.

My wife and her guide dog and myself went here for a meal 21st September.Read the reviews but wasnt sure.Visited the bar in the afternoon and the barman was really friendly so decided to come back in the evening.Glad we did.
Starters was lovely.Mains was just as good.Portions were huge.I had the scampi and its the most pieces of scampi ive ever had.My wife had steak pie and shes never stopped speaking about it.Think shes still got bits of steak in her teeth today.
They could probably cut down in the portions if they wanted too but we are not huge eaters and not complaining.
We will be back.Lovely meal. Thanks to all the staff for looking after Betty our guide dog too.

We only make it down to this place a couple of times a year but it never disappoints. Super fresh moist, juicy haddock, great chips, tasty crispy batter, tea, bread & butter, mushy peas. Nice wee sit in area. It's perfect really & head & shoulders above what passes for a fish supper in most of the rest of Scotland. Personally, I rate it miles ahead of Cromars in St Andrews (for price, portion size & flavour) which won the best chip shop in the country 2017. It's also better than the highly rated Anstruther Café - don't believe me? - check it out - you won't regret it. Personal taste & palate comes into it I suppose, but this place ticks all the boxes for me. Great value too.

Osso is an excellent contemporary style restaurant adjacent to the High street in Peebles. At night focuses more on three course Dinner, during the day is more 'laid back' and cafe style. Has won awards.
We visited Osso tonight while visiting from Aberdeen. I could not fault one thing about this restaurant. We had the scallops to start: they were perfectly cooked and the risotto was a gorgeous addition. We then both hd the venison: cooked to pure perfection and the haggis side was delicious. A steak knife would have been handy to have but was easily overlooked due to quality of the meal. Finally we both had the panna cotta dessert: duento not liking rhubarb our server was kind enough to offer me a similar dessert that they serve at lunch time. I could have eaten my whole meal three times over. The ingredients were clearly fresh and everything made from scratch to order. If we didnt leave over 3 hours away i would visit very often. We didnt have to wait long between each course.

We booked based on TA reviews and weren't disappointed. We were recommended by our guest house owner. to start the evening in the upstairs bar and we enjoyed couple of expertly-made cocktails while our order was taken. The dining room is quite small but certainly not cramped and had a cosy, welcoming feel. The menu is not large, but that's usually a good sign of in-season ingredients and freshly prepared dishes, and there was plenty on there we would happily have chosen. An excellent amuse bouche came before the starter, bread was very good and the starters and mains were perfectly cooked and full of robust flavours. The beef medallions in particular were some of the best I've ever had, and the portions were generous. Service was friendly and timely without being at all pushy. Very highly recommended.

Fantastic contemporary feel Steakhouse & Grill. Reservations not essential but recommended especially in the evenings.
Visited here while staying at a nearby hotel, special was a ribeye with chips £10, absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly, added onion rings and mushroom sauce, peppercorns and brandy sauce, amazing!
Butterscotch sundae to die for followed.
Friendly, courteous service made this an excellent place to dine.

been three times at this hotel. like it very much.had groupon voucher. gave us an upgrade as daughter said it was a golden wedding gift. it was the sparkling cream tea was confusing expecting sandwiches and cakes but only got scones with coffee and prosecco.Room number 3 is nice one overlooking main road.staff is nice.think restuarants rise and fall on their sausages and these ones are very good. wasnt very busy but not expected to be in middle of January . yes likely be back next year.
