New restaurant in Ormskirk
This is a great restaurant for a Saturday afternoon lunch! We got a nice sirloin steak and a piri piri chicken. Good table service, reasonably priced, a delicious egg pudding desert with wine and coffees. The place has a nice vibe as well, busy but not noisy. I would return.

Greeted with a smile and seated straight away. The men had calamari and crispy beef starters, they arrived very quickly, both were well presented and apparently very tasty.
We chose sea bass, mixed grill and two cheese and leek pies for the main course. I was too busy revelling in the gorgeousness of my pie to ask how the other mains were. Everything about the pie was perfect, great pastry, cheesy filling... nice chips and when we found the salad was lacking onion we were provided with our own bowl full!
Nothing is too much trouble at the Hop vine, we love it.

I've eaten here several times, the food is always lovely.
My other half is amazingly fussy about getting perfect fish & chips.
It was certainly that. He loved it.
We'd had 3 starters because we couldn't decide, scallops, crab risotto and a cheesy bread and butter pudding.... all yum.
My only gripe were the desserts.
Nice enough, but definitely not as inventive or special as they have been in the past.
Your orange bread and butter pud used to be amazing, as was the citrus tasting plate, the lemon tart and panacotta were gorgeous.

A Warm Welcome And A Focus On The Best, freshest Produce, simply But Skillfully Prepared.
I visited after recommendations and it was ok. I think there is too much choice on the menu and they can't deliver a great meal as a result. My meal came with little pots or relish and pickled onions etc which i thought was cool untill i saw the dirty underside of the lids. The coleslaw tasted a bit fizzy so i left it. All in all its ok food but quite costly for what it is. I left tge place content but would bot return because i could spend the same amount somewhere else and get something better.

Pub in a beautiful setting by the Liverpool Leeds ship canal.
No doubt this is a good food pub but we never got the chance to try due to the poor level of service. Lots of staff but they were busy rushing round clearing glasses and taking trays of drinks to tables. Finally got served after a ten minute wait at the bar, but being charged £7 for a pint of local ale and half a cider convinced us to go elsewhere.

We went here with some friends (18 in total) and the service was superb. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was brilliant and presented really well. The restaurant is big and can cater for parties and also has a lovely bar area too.

Enjoyed a 2 course lunch with unlimited coffee or tea for £12.00. Very tasty fish pie followed by apple pie with ice cream and cream. Table looked very smart with white starched tablecloth. Waiters dressed smartly and were both polite and efficient. Second visit in 30yrs but will not leave it so long to return !

We decided to have a change from a normal establishment and came to the Owd Barn. We had been before many years ago and the transformation is excellent. Whilst the food was not gourmet it's down to earth well presented and delicious fare. Reasonable priced and well prepared good quality food on offer. It will be a regular lunch stop off for us in future. We also enjoyed the shop and my wife purchased a number of items as well.
