Unforgetable!
Fabrizia created a Vegan food menu only for me!
Roberto found the complimentary wines!
The atmosphere was wonderful and the evening was the highlight of my 3 weeks vacation.
Thanks to Fabrizia I was finally able to eat something else than Pasta with Tomatosauce or grilled vegetables.
Any special food required, call in 24hrs before hand and you will get what your tummy asks for.
Also the standard menu looked great, the choice of wine is unlimited, over 800 different wines at your choice.
Highly recommended, don't miss it when you are in the area!

IThe Strasserwirt is a very tradtiional hotel in a historic buidling, which dates back to 6 century. The rooms are comfortable and with modern facilities. The food was amazing and enhanced by the atmosphere of the traditionl dining rooms, called "Stube". The Strasserwirt is amazing and great for ski Safaris in the Austrian Osttirol and Italian South Tirol. Fantastic for snow shoeing as well as sktouring.

Some locals I stayed at took me to this place twice where they meet up with their family members, and it looks like it's always packed with people - both big friendly gatherings and romanic dinners with candles. The food is average, service is good and the view from Terrace and from inside is wonderful. They would also pack you pizza to take away.Overall, worth a visit, mostly for the view and lovely friendly atmosphere in the evening.

A really great family excursion topped off with a fantastic meal!
The Bärenwirt restaurant is located at the Assling Tierpark – the small zoo.
It’s roughly a 20 minute drive from Lienz up the side of the valley on some twisty roads. The views of the surrounding Mountains are amazing.
We went through the park first which took about 90 minutes by which time we were starving!
The restaurant is huge with Seating inside and outside. Inside were many different dining areas and outside was great as you could enjoy the views and keep an eye on the kids playing on the playground just in front of the restaurant.
Menus were fairly basic but something there for everyone and what you’d expect for a restaurant such as this. Plenty of kid’s choices too.
Service was highly efficient and our food took literally just two minutes to arrive! Everything came at once and everything was hot, fresh and well garnished with little surprises for the children’s dishes. They are obviously used to serving for large numbers, most of which are families with children.
Recommend this day out to the zoo and the restaurant is perfect for a refreshment stop with the family before or after a visit to the animal park. You can also ‘ride off’ you meal afterwards with a ride on the summer toboggan run!

The location is absolutely stunning with superb views to Croda Rossa and all Sextener Alps. The place is very rustical and also a bit run down. Table were made in wood but not refined and scratching. Toilets were just basic and cleaning seemed a kind of option for the management. Otti the owner is very intrusive, talks very loud and enforces your choice with his special recommendations. Food was on the same level: good portion but very rustical style with mixed strong flavours and too spicy. The "maccaroni Nemes" was the best of the full lunch for three people. It's more expensive than similar locations nearby and watch out Otti does not accept credit cards and he did not issued a regular bill (ricevuta fiscale or fattura) and that happened with all our individual bills. Be forewarned.

Per offrire un miglior servizio e per accontentare un maggior numero di ospiti ,la nostra struttura non lavora su prenotazione
We just wandered into the pizzeria with two kids who were very tired and very hungry. The staff ensured us that in 10 minutes we will have pizza and that they love hungry and tired children. Both proved to be true - and we kept on returning during our stay. In the end we took the whole group with us, 15 people altogether and we received the same great service and excellent quality meals. We highly recommend this place.

We loved EVERYTHING about this place! We stayed here, as well as dined. The apartment was gorgeous, very clean and modern, beds were comfortable, balcony with reclining seats that overlook breath-taking Mountains, a church steeple so close you can practically touch it, hosts that are friendly, welcoming, accommodating...picturesque little town hugging the side of a mountain, with winding roads to explore, trails to hike, flowers to see, cattle and sheep grazing...breakfast is included, and is a pleasing assortment of traditional fare, as well as breads and jams and fruit. We ate dinner in the restaurant. The menu is impressive, and all food is prepared by the owner and her staff. We saw her in the garden picking fresh herbs which appeared on our plates minutes later. My husband ordered "jagapfandl" which translates "saddle of deer chopped into chunks" and came with cream sauce, mushrooms, roasted bacon, cranberries and crouquettes. He thought he'd died and gone to heaven. The hotel also has a steam room and gym. In our 2-week, 4-country, European trip, it was by far the most beautiful and perfect place we stayed. When we think back, it was one of the highlights of our visit. It is WAY off the beaten path, so you won't have to contend with hordes of tourists, although they apparently do a bustling business during ski season.
