Our light battered whole fish halibut, cod, haddock, and fresh cut fries are said to be the best in town.
We split a 2 piece halibut and one chip with 2 side coleslaws. We ate in. It was fairly busy on a Friday night with people eating in and take-outs.
OMG, they have the best tasting, not greasy battered Halibut. The batter light tasting, crispy with thick fresh piece of Halibut. Delicious and portion size is generous. Love the coleslaw, not overdressed, too sweet or vinegar. They split the order into 2 plates without asking, which was appreciated so that we didn't have too. Everything was cooked perfectly, and very hot.
Been here many times, prices are reasonable, service great. The only place I will every go to for Halibut and Chips in Durham Region/Clarington.
Never disappoints, just deliciousness.

This place has been in Newcastle for years and it is kept up immaculately. Decor is lovely! bathrooms lovely and clean. But... As for food....Meh! its ok, nothing is outstanding. We were there for breakfast which was very unimaginative, not much fruit options, no yogurt options, no crepe options. They offer an english breakfast for $9.50 which comes with two eggs, sausage, two peameal bacon and a very small (think ketchup cup at Mc'Ds)cup of beans in a tomato sauce. I ordered the standard two eggs and bacon breakfast, the eggs were cooked well, not to scortched. Three small pieces of thin bacon and thin rye toast with very little homefries. All of it eatable but not wow! Toast was barely buttered Coffee wasn't great and isn't refilled regularly. We had to get our servers attention and ask for every refill. The thing I dislike most about this place is the sticker on each menu telling you that you will be charged for any alterations to a dish. So on a very limited menu, If I decide I don't want the sausage on the English breakfast and prefer bacon I will be charged extra for asking for the alteration of the printed choice. It comes off petty and rude. I can go to mc'Donalds and make countless changes to my preset meal options yet this family restaurant cant throw bacon on the plate instead of sausage without charging me extra for making a change. Was also charged extra for rye toast which wasn't even a nice rye. There are better places.

Traveling from Toronto to Kingston my family and I stopped here for lunch following positive reviews on web. We received a warm, friendly welcome. Enjoyed great fish and chips, chicken wings and burgers. The place was decorated with all sorts of interesting memorabilia from Ireland. Unfortunately we were unable to stay for a music session which I believe are amazing. The cost was very good value and I would highly recommend it to other visitors.
this cosy IRISH pub has a good selection of beers and spirits. Great atmosphere and interesting decoration. I had a fabulous meal and a few pints as well. I can easily recommend this place and would say it is definitely worth a visit.

We visited Chanterelle as a group of five. The waitress was perfectly polite, friendly and fast. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and all remarked that we would like to return.
The location was well maintained and spotlessly clean.
Every staff member I spoke to was polite and friendly and the food was perfect, well presented and delicious.
Thank you all

Stopped to grab a quick bite (a couple toasted bagels with cheese). Server was polite and friendly but our bagels were toasted a little too much. Even it out to an average rating.

Love their food, well presented nice waitresses. Their “Other Woman Burger” tempted me on last visit. The burger with brioche bun was terrific as well as sweet potato fries. Grandson (big eater) loved his buffalo chicken Sandwich. Don’t live in Newy but whenever in town it is my fave!

We recently visited Jungle Cat World and decided to go into town for dinner. We stopped at the Fire Hall Bistro and are glad we did! It's just a small place but our dinner was excellent as was the service we received. We would highly recommend this diner, not only if you're staying in the area but also if you're driving through to cottage cottage and need to stop for a bite to eat.
