We had our very first Sri Lankan dinner at Lords when arrived.
It seemed that it was THE trendy place to go in Negombo.
The back of the restaurant is much nicer than the area near the street so I regretted we were not offered a table there. The service is very good though.
The cocktails were average and the food was nice. I had prawns served in a coconut sauce and a sort of beetroot chutney which was lovely. The curry itself was nothing special but it was a smooth approach to the local food.
We had so much better for much cheaper during as we traveled around the island. Especially in the guesthouses.

The Black Coral is renowned for its exceptional haute cuisine and fantastic selection of wines. A meal at this sophisticated fine-dining restaurant is an investment that won’t disappoint. It is situated at Jetwing Beach Hotel, Negombo.
Having been forced to over night in Columbo on our way back from the Maldives to London, my wife and I were put in the Jetwing by Sri Lankan Airline. Feeling pretty depressed about not getting home when expected, we decided to make the best of events and to try out the black Coral restaurant and had a most enjoyable evening. The food and service were exceptional with the calamari cooked to taste with just the right amount of spice. Wine list good and not too pricey. All round, very, very good
Our thanks to the restaurant staff, Nivusala, Chandika and Nivoshau (please forgive the spelling) for turning a depressing stop over into a most enjoyable evening

We stayed in an adjacent hotel and people we met there recommended this restaurant. Unfortunately it turned out to be very disappointing.
The menu was more Chinese than Sri Lankan, with some European dishes available also. We both chose Chinese dishes that involved beef. The food presented was fairly lacklustre but the beef was inedible - it smelled and tasted disgusting. When we finished we complained to the waiter about the beef. He grinned and ignored us - though I did hear him shouting into the kitchen as he cleared the plates 'beef disgusting!' - as if it was some sort of joke.
Poor!

Fresh caught seafood straight from the Indian Ocean is on displayed at your very eyes to be cooked just the way you want it, grilled, deviled, poached, fried or any other style that you prefer that would leave you with great satisfaction. Enjoy the romance of live Seafood, a tables set right on the beach facing the ocean, candle lighting, warm ocean breeze and the surf breaking softly just a few feet away with the many catamarans at sea. Watch the flickering illumination of hurricane lamps throw shadows of history on the soft sand under your bare foot. Designed to make your heart softly beat. Shades you from the sun and shelters you from the rain. Perched on the pristine sands of the paradise beach overlooking the Indian Ocean .It’s a quaint yet stylish venue with the signifying natural aesthetic beauty. A setting that is nothing short from your expected dream. The cool night breeze will caress you while waiters at island style attire cosset you.
We had an evening meal here on the beach. The setting was lovely and the restaurant itself is decorated well and looks very clean and modern. However his seemed to be ruined by the cheesy 80s live music and the rodents running around outside. Food was good, especially the seer fish. This restaurant could definitely be one of the best if they made it a little more upmarket (to match their prices!)

Established in the last 4 months as the name implies small
Ended up going for dinner twice! The food was really good quality and very reasonably priced. They don’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own which is perfect as there is a wine store very close by. Really nice family run restaurant highly recommend a visit!

My pizza was good and a pleasant change from curry. My wife’s pasta was good too. Staff are friendly. The location is a bit fumet as close to the road do get an inside seat. A good value restaurant when you fancy a break from Sri Lankan food. Recommended.

A must visit Sensational Seafood Cuisine serving Restaurant exclusively from Negombo's lagoon and off-shores with Great & Quality Cocktails from the Pub and best home like staff in the Sri Lanka's 'Little Rome' that even serve Italian, Chinese or Thai Cuisine by the Negombo beach-strip. We invite you to relax and enjoy a fine dinning experience losing your stress smiling and laughing or in a calm atmosphere perhaps with a little music.
We ate here twice during our visit to Sri Lanka- once at the beginning and became it was so good we had to return at the end.
Specialising in sea food, the fish can be prepared in a variety of ways depending on what had been caught fresh that day. Customers can choose before it is cooked.
Right on the beach, reasonable prices and happy, friendly service from Romly the waiter.
Don't be in a rush. Good things come to those who wait.
Just enjoy an extra beverage.

Bacco is provide the best homemade Italian pizza in town ,, we are using finest products from Italy, and please enjoy our homemade fresh pasta including ravioli spinaci ,,
Once again I tantalised my tastebuds and experienced the culinary art of Roy, the owner of this exceptional Italian restaurant in the heart of the main street in Negombo on Brown's Beach.
His ability to produce amazing pasta dishes every time is unbelievable. This restaurant prides its homemade pasta, which if you haven't tried, you MUST.
Bacco has a very romantic garden at the back of the restaurant and the cool breeze off the water is just beautiful.
They have a good selection of imorted wines to suit everyones taste. I always let Roy choose the wine best suited to the dish.
It is very professionally run ,and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
It just keeps getting better and better. Even though the prices are a llittle expensive compared to others, it is worth it.
If you haven't been you should try. I would recommend this restaurant totally. My favourite place in Negombo.
Thanks again everyone for a great dining experience.
See you again soon.
