A spot of white in the turquoise waters of the Aegean Sea, the island of Naxos is a unique blend of ancient ruins and beach culture. The largest of the Cycladic Islands, Naxos is the childhood home of none other than Zeus, king of the gods. Upon arrival in Naxos, hike over a causeway to Palatia, where the Portara, a stone gateway to an ancient temple that no longer exists, stands alone, the symbol of the island. At sunset, the views of the island, and the sea beyond, are breathtaking.

Since opening in 1995 on the Greek island of Naxos, Scirocco has become somewhat of an institution in naxos not to be missed. Behind the scenes mama Katerina creates her favourite dishes, which luckily for you, she shares with more than just her family. Her sons, Nikos and Michalis, will make sure that you feel right at home, just like they do. You will want to come again, in fact, you may never want to leave.
This place was recommended to us, and was so good we went back twice. Food was excellent- delicious , well presented, using local ingredients. Service was of a very high standard. Great ambience , right on the village square. We would highly recommend!

Our first night in Naxos, staying at the Nissaki Beach Hotel, we decided to try their restaurant right on the beach. Wonderful ambiance looking out at the bay, accompanied by a relaxing, very enjoyable meal. The chicken filet was delicious and the tuna steak was a large portion. Service was friendly and attentive. The Greek wine was excellent, of course!

Wine bar, with French wines and Greek wines, organic et biodynamic culture. We are ambassadors of some wines and Champagne from France that we represent in Greece. A fusion food cooked with local produce. We offer tapas and some French traditionnal dishes as well and Caribbean Curry. All our food is homemade , cooked with fresh Naxian ingrédients.
We come here often and simply say, "let's go to the French women tonight". It's such a cozy place which reflects the warm personalities of Elli and Fred and is reminiscent of a bistro in a small French village. Elli's wine recommendations are always spot...MoreHello good2go195 Thank you for the beautiful and just how you describe La Vigne, it's a compliment that makes us want to continue in this direction, I'm sure you hear my French accent through the words! xaxaxa good stay at Naxos Eli and Fred

A small restaurant with 10 tables in a perfect location 20 meters from the harbour of Naxos. Family business in a quite place next to gift shops between the seaside and the Venetian Castle. The owners are cooking from the morning trying to serve the best food and the best quality and when you have the chance ask for what just came out from the oven!
We visited the place last night.I had the best mousaka in years!!!Also great lamb chops for my husband! Excellent service with a smile!Strongly recomended!!!

"O Giorgis" is a family run restaurant in the picturesque village of Melanes. The view from the restaurant to the green valley opposite is breathtaking. The village of Melanes is 7km from the town of Chora and 4km away from "Flerio", the place where the "Kouros" of Melanes was found. Giorgis Xenakis and Marina along with their children run the restaurant which is open every single day of the year. There are a lot of grilled meat options to choose from but a lot of meat cooked in casserole too. Giorgis' signature dish, as a lot of people call it, is the rooster in tomato sauce served with bugatini type pasta. Nevertheless, we suggest choosing different dishes that you can share to taste more than one! Marina also makes traditional fruit preserves. "Teaspoon sweets" as they are called in Greece. They are perfect with yoghurt or ice cream. Do give our taverna a try and we give you a taste of real Greek food and hospitality! Giorgis, Marina, Nikolas and Anna Xenaki
This is a great Restaurant for meat lovers and you could find any traditional meats from Greek cuisine. Try kokoretsi, rooster, ribs pork, lamb and many more. All the meats are locals and fresh. One of the best meat/barbecue restaurants in Naxos just 5km from the port.

Friendly and personal service welcomes you to this relaxing atmosphere that is devoted to admirers of the truly fresh fish. Every day, early in the morning, small local boats from Moutsouna and Koufonisi bring in fresh net caught fish. Naturally, your choice of freshly caught fish will be prepared it exactly as you wish as will any tradition Greek dish. Our menu also includes Mediterranean specialties, gourmet dishes and traditional homemade family recipes. Local suppliers provide all of our meats and our legumes and vegetables are from our garden. Olive oil is produced locally from our olive trees harvested from our olive grove every October. We are always happy to comply with any and all of your culinary wishes!
We stayed at the hotel next door for six days so we ate dinner at this restaurant every night and tried almost all the dishes in the menu. Without exaggeration, each dish is amazing, carefully prepared and beautifully presented! I would highly recommend the pasta with shrimps, mille feuille with vegetables, shrimps with ouzo and deconstructed cheesecake!

Rotonda is open 1st of june to 25th of octomber
The food is great from starters to mains to desserts but the views from this restaurant are amazing. We were here late afternoon and enjoyed their food which was only complimented by the breathtaking views of Naxos! The food was excellent and we pretty much tried a good part of their menu since we were 6. The place is very nicely decorated actually unique for Greece and their service was great!

After a wonderful drive through the Mountains we arrived at this little bay. As we parked the rental car, somebody waived from the steps of this impossibly picturesque restaurant... Apparently run by mum, dad and son, we were greeted as old friends, shown to a table, presented with a large bowl of today's freshly caught fish and invited to choose. The dorada I selected was promptly fried by mum while dad showed us a photo album of the restaurant past and present; the son took care of translation. The fish was good and simple, other dishes were adequate and the view and atmosphere were fantastic. Don't hesitate; this place is definitely worth the trip: fresh produce, simply presented, a lot of heart.

Having discovered this gem last year, I of course had to return, and what can I say, it was even better this year! The view really is stunning, the welcome you get, especially as a returning customer, is nothing short of overwhelming, and within minutes you will feel like like you've discovered a little corner of paradise.
Even more importantly though, the food is well worth the trip too. It's hearty traditional stuff, but executed with a touch of finesse and elegance that goes far beyond the humble appearance. The cook really knows what he's doing, and as I already pointed out in last year's review, I love the fact that the portions aren't as crazy as in some other places. Also, the desserts aren't as cloyingly sweet as elsewhere. This year, we were treated to a wonderful little helping of candied carrot julienne with yoghurt. Delicious!
Yes, it's a trek, but apart from taking you to one of the most beautiful parts of the island, you'll also be rewarded with some truly exceptional food. Highly recommended!
