I got to Kokkinindis in 2015 at the end of the season in November because they were the last open and did my favourite lamb to die for like no one else does.
This year I returned because I'm now a goat fan. I'd already tried one restaurant which I will never return to and won't disgrace them by mentioning the name of the Taverna.
But goat I didn't get all I got was bones.
Here they not only do the goat, but what a goat lovely rice and lemon potatoes cooked in the oven all day.
The food Rita serves in Kokkinindis has flair, Style, flavour it's just special.
They have EVERYTHING you are looking for on their menu, lovely cocktails. Great atmosphere on the second floor. Lovely lanternas light the restaurant which is two tavernas that join together.
My husband had left early had to go back to work in the UK I was even asked to sit with the family twice and they where very hospitable and friendly to me.
I had my last 4 nights there and what a lovely experience I had.
Professional staff, excellent service, and every tourist I talked to had been there at least 2-3 times.
Surely that says a lot for this gem of a place
If I get back to Kalymnos, that's where I'll have dinner.
She also gives you a lovely desert made of soft flour and honey called I think cluclunados..., hum I think I got the name wrong.
I strongly recommend you make a reservation and BE on time!!

You can't help to feel like you have known these people forever- we slept in very late one day, but where still greated with open arms, and they made us a wonderful breakfast. We came back to eat dinner here, and eventhough our daughter has to have foods with no milk, they managed to make her the most wonderful pizza she had ever had- with just the things she said she wanted on it. We adults tried a mix grill and loved it! Huge portions, you wont go hungry away from this place. Absolutly wonderful foods and staff.

Never been disappointed here. Excellent location with stunning views . Menu regularly updated and always has something new to try. Try the lamb for two. Make sure you leave room for desserts though. Can't fault this place. Recommend you book in advance though. Just pop in and book. Pick your table too.

This restaurant is near the Plaza hotel at Massouri, Kalymnos in the main street of Massouri. It has amazing view looking down the sea and the food is amazing and at very good price. The owner, Miltos, is a young man with very good communication skills. One can tell that he loves his job!

A popular restaurant with views over Talendos, friendly staff created a welcoming atmosphere and the food was of an outstanding quality, particular favourites were the shrimp balls and the Lam special (25 Euros for two) which in reality was a large lamb joint thta would have served four.

We used this bar for our breakfast most days.Lovely guy manages this place.He is so welcoming and remembers you every year.Food is very good.Service very efficient.Bar is clean.Great central location.

Nicely out of the way of the main tourist trap of Massouri. Lovely views of fishing harbour and often live traditional music. A great welcome from the family here. Really fresh fish from the harbour and don't miss Annas hone made soup. Whatever it is it WILL be good. Also very good value.

A very nice tavern by the sea. You can spend all day by swiming and eating delicious foods.lamb chops,local salad,pasta with seafood were amazing.Service is also very good.Eleni is very kind and nice.we highly recommend:))

We only called in for a quick beer at lunchtime.The place was clean with great views overlooking the sea and Telendos.toilets clean.
we did not eat here so cannot comment on food.service was not the fastest but hey we were on holiday so no rush needed.

Bao buns in Kalymnos? Check! Seaside view right next to the water? Check.
My girlfriend was pleasantly surprised with the hot chili sauce on her pork bao buns, but honestly the other dishes fell a bit flat. Burgers, salmon and tuna filets all could have been seasoned better, and the order and speed of serving was really all over the place. Both the times I came here recently, the appetizers and mains came out at the same time, and some mains took longer than others, causing some of our parties to wait before eating. Not the nicest eating experience. The wines are a bit on the expensive side. The wait staff are nice people, but seem a bit inexperienced. The restaurant itself is a great space, both inside and out. The view is really worth it. But, really the main faults are it's food and service.

This is a very friendly family run restaurnat which, in our opinion, serves some of the best food on the island. An added bonus is the fact that the owner speaks very good English, so you will have no problem discussing your meal choices. Furthermore, if you have any special requests, they will do their best to help you.
They usually have very fresh fish and at a fair price. My only suggestion is that you may want to ask them not to put extra olive oil over your fish before serving. This is done a lot on the Islands, but is generally not liked by visitors. Their Greek salad is one of the best we've ever tasted, they use only the freshest ingredients and the addition of preserved kapari leaves, apparently a local speciality, turned it into something special.
Even if you are not actually staying in Melitsahas, I would suggest that you it is worth your while to check this place out. We shall certainly be back next time we visit Kalymnos.
