In the gentle valley of Konavle, in the lush greenery of the centuries old trees and on the banks of a clean stream named Ljuta, the time seems to have stopped. The National restaurant Konavoski Dvori resting in an ancient mill by the rumbling river not only has a unique location but also offers a tranquil ambiance. The cold Ljuta river during the summer months serves as a natural air-conditioning. It is a perfect place to spend a day enjoying the untouched nature, getting to know Konavle tradition, and eating a delicious food. When you visit the Konavoski Dvori, enjoy the excellent smoked ham, cheese kept in oil, young lamb and veal baked under the iron bell, home-baked bread, grilled trout and other national specialties of this renowned restaurant. Dishes are prepared here in the same traditional way as our grandmothers used to make them and the waiters are dressed in regional costumes.
We went to this restaurant based on a recommendation of some local friends. They were not mistaken, the food is delicious, the waiters were very kind and helpful, and the surroundings breathtaking, we sat by the river and enjoyed our meal in a fresh atmosphere that was just delightful! I took the smoked trout as a starter, my wife preferred a soup (that was sooo tasty!) and then I tried the traditional lamb cooked under the iron bell, I couldn't believe how tender and full of flavor was the meat! My wife ordered a tradicional cooked meat, called pasticada which is served with homemade gnocchi that was simply fantastic. In all, just go and see it for yourselves, I'm recommending it to all my friends!!

Local fammily restaurant with traditional home produce food. Beautifull sittings on the river.
Genuine good home family cooking in an unusual environment The restaurant is situated in then countryside by a river and sometimes your table could be under a bridge on the river. They also do group parties as when we were there someone was celebrating their 50 birthday and come from as far as Montenegro.

The setting made a great change from the seafront restaurants which we had visited all week. The views are lovely and it's a peaceful courtyard, nicely set out.
We had a really helpful waiter who suggested a mix of bruschetta and prosciutto rolls for starters. Delicious!
Our mains were also fabulous, homemade gnocchi with vegetables, steak and lamb from the outdoor grill and roast potatoes (which would rival any Chris Evans bangs on about every morning.)
We even found space for Deserts, which didn't disappoint.
Don't miss this gem if you are close by but likewise it's worth a trip out.

We ate here a couple of times and the food is good. With Stela on Croatia's national team you wouldn't expect less. However, their waiter is unbelievably slow and keep forgetting things. He acts like he really doesn't like his job. I would also suggest that the people in the kitchen change their grimy aprons once in a while. Not very hygienic!
Location is nice, overlooking the bay and the sandy beach.

Since we lived almost next door, it was very convenient to have dinner here. However, on 2 occasions the fish was undercooked, it was raw at the backbone. On one occasion the food was cold. We didn't like how they prepare the potatoes either - they taste like they have been sitting in water long after they're cooked. Our final dinner was excellent, however, and combined with the charming service of our always cheerful waiter, Matija, we still award the place a very good rating. What a difference from the guy at Monika, the number one restaurant. There are only 2 restaurants in Molunat, but my vote goes to Maritimo.
