Friendly waitress, and what is very particular is that they ask if you want cheese before you have some on your meal. Also on salades and soups. Close to shopping mall and outlet center.

I asked a couple of locals where I should eat. They both said this place. Clearly popular with the locals and you can see why once you look at the menu.
Their menu covers everything French from Langoustine and Escargot, to Frog legs and Filet. They also offer a la cart or meals that include soup, desert, tea / coffee. They prices seem pretty reasonable to me. Absent from the menu, however, was fois gras.
The staff were very friendly. Not sure if they spoke english. I didn't hear any, but then again I'm not sure there were any non-french speaking people there.
I had the Coquille Saint Jacques, Escargot and Butterflied Shrimp.
Start with the Coquille. It arrived to the table cold. They immediately and kindly reheated it for me. It didn't taste quite right. The cheese on it was perfect, but the interior tasted slightly wrong. I think it was the imitation crab meat they put inside. I would rather they just left out the crab instead of using the imitation stuff.
Next, the Escargot. It came out 1st as an appetizer and then a 2nd plate came out with the main meal. The appetizer was with garlic butter and roasted in the oven, delivered with toasted garlic bread. Wonderful. It was great. What a highlight. The 2nd plate was covered in cheese and also very good.
The dish came with 2 butterflied shrimp. In the butterflied section was some kind of something on it. Not sure what because the skin was still on the back side of the shrimp. In order to get it off I had to fight with the shrimp quite a bit and that "filling" all disappeared. But not to worry, they gave me some garlic butter to dip the shrimp into. Unfortunately the butter was stone cold and not very pleasant.
The plate also had rice and boiled veg. The veg was also stone cold and the rice was warm and tasty.
Taxes and tip included, I was out the door for $34. That was appetizer, main meal, desert (jello) and coffee. Water to drink.
I would try it again. I know it sounds like a rough review, but I think it's worth a 2nd shot. I would love to try the Langoustine next time.

Seasonal Cabane à sucre (sugar shack) run by the chef as Au Pied du Cochon in Montreal.
We got very lucky and got 2 late drop-out places via a large group who got Reservations months in advance.
It's far outside Montreal, and a bit hard to see the turnoff so ensure you have good directions. No sense showing up early though, as they won't be ready until likely after your designated time. You can look for wild kittens hanging around the bbq.
The atmosphere is fun with rustic cabin and stuffed animal decor, if a bit claustrophobic being tightly squeezed in together in large groups on long picnic-style tables.
The food is why you came, and you won't leave disappointed! The menu is huge, creative, and delicious. Being 9 courses (or more), you may not love everything to your taste, but the majority is delicious and you can always appreciate the effort involved.
Service was the only glitch. Staff was friendly, but it was so busy things were rushed and distracted. Plates and cutlery were often forgotten for one or more guests, and some never got to order beverages. It was hard to hear the menus described, so several of us downloaded it at the table for instant reference to know what we were enjoying. Great overall value for price and quality.
Tip: aim for the early Seating if possible. The late one finishes after 11 and not only will you be stuffed going to sleep, but it could be midnight when back in Montreal!

Come and visit us to taste in a friendly atmosphere , our Mexican and Salvadoran cuisine. In addition, you will find in our store a wide variety of Latin American products . We are waiting for you!
Ordinary food, ordinary service, nothing special or exotic. Food tastes below adverage. A little spices and tough meat. I will never go back even if I live close to that...restaurant.

We had visited previously for a supper and all was great so we had decided to go again. We found that the restaurant was extremely noisy and although the decor is wonderful there is no screening off, just curtains so the noise from the large birthday party area travels to all areas. We were put in a far corner and the light was just hanging from the ceiling not a great start. We had fair service but nothing fantastic. We did ask questions re the menu and had been told the sushi was great so we tried that plus a soup starter. The soup was pretty tasteless and only warm, the sushi was up to standard and we enjoyed it and were glad we tried new varieties as they were super fresh and interesting. The main meals were not good. Mine had chicken which I think was from a frozen package, or of not it was very poor, the veg were fresh but sparse and the fried noodle basket was just heavy all with a salty sauce, not my favourite at all. The tempura which I remember as a highlight last visit was pretty tasteless - not great, it looked wonderful though. Also from our last visit this is now a BYOW place, so be aware of this. The meal was expensive for the quality we had and I would not return or advise others to go, which is rare for me and a disappointment.
