Metajna is a village in Croatia, in the municipality of Novalja, with a population of 236. It is located in the Bay of Pag on the island of Pag. Many tourists are coming to this area in the summer which seems to be so peaceful and beautiful but few know that in 1941 this was one of the most horrible places on Earth. The Slana death camp is about 5 km away was for men and in village Metajna itself were three houses were children and women were held, raped and killed in the most brutal way. The truth of what happened in the place was brought to light after World War II but after the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990's there was a continuous attempt to hide and blur the traces of what happened in the place.

I am coming to Boskinac for a few years now and simply love the place, ambiance is amazing and calming, which is a nice change from a hectic Novalja nearby.
This year I came with three friends wanting to have some wine Boskinac is famous for.
The waitress which served us was obviously inexperienced and at moments even seemed confused with what is expected of her. We ordered a bottle of red wine, one glass of white wine and a glass of ,,rakija,,. She was bringing us our order in strange order, she would bring us the bottle of red wine (in ice bucket?!) then in a few minutes glasses, then after two minutes the white wine and so on. Did not offer us to try the wine before drinking, did not even pour us the wine in glasses. My friend wanted a dessert, she was not able to say details of some desserts, was going to check in the kitchen but never gave us the feedback. In the end the experience was good,as we really love the place and the wine was amazing as always, but a place with such reputation and aiming to be top restaurant in Croatia simply can not afford to have this kind of service.

Food and drink orders were taken very quickly, waited around 30 minutes for food which I understand as i did order a grilled stale which was very very good! The other 2 pasta meals were lovely. The waiter did seem to be running the restraunt alone, very busy and over worked which unfortunately lead to us sitting with no drinks and the same happened when waiting for the bill. I overall would defiantly recommend the restraunt but I believe more staff on a night would make it amazing.

So many years on island Pag, and first time to Figurica. The best decision today. Owner and staff are great, friendly, talkative. Food is all home made food, fresh and very delicious. Prices are normal. Cheese, lamp, shrimps, calimari, all home made. Very recommend!

This is the most local food place in whole island of Pag region. Not very tourist oriented (because village of Kolan is far from the coast) it serves great food.
Went there with couple of friends, and as it was early in season, there was no roasted lamb, but lamb stew with home made gnocchi was amazing. Good size portions, friendly staff, reasonably priced.Excellent home wine and bread. Would recommend for sure.

I wrote a review last summer and after re-visiting two times this year I can only reinstate it. nothing changed. The place still looks really appealing, it is a very nice small traditional restaurant in small place Kolan. However, neither the food less the (same old) waiter are likewise appealing. As I wrote before, the food is not bad, but something is missing - it might be love in making good food. Bigger problem is the service. To be frank, for Croatian (very low) standards it is not as bad, but for a restaurant it wishes to be appealing to foreign visitors (what I actually am not completely - as I am from Zagreb but still not from Pag) - it is just bad. We had a baby with us and babies are not adults and cannot behave accordingly, but if the restaurant is empty (there was one table only sitted except us), the waiter should not complain to our just started walking baby to give him way. All in all, I stay with my last comment - it is nice place to visit and since Pag does not have many you may give it a try, but do not expect Michelin service

Nice place to eat out, despite not being on the sea side, it was very busy and there were many people waiting for table. Food was good, large portions, service attentive.

My partner and I stumbled upon this while out and about in pag. Waitress, blonde girl very friendly and welcoming. Great choice on menus. Restaurant setting and Seating area fantastic. Fresh fish was being delivered while Reading menus. Chose tuna and seafood pasta. Both fresh, very tasty. Service was quick but not too quick to think it wasn't freshly prepared. 4 beers as well . 160 kunas around £21. After being on road trip around Croatia this was in our top ten. If not for taste, definitely for price. Will recommend.

Visited this restaurant for a few years in a row. First year we were almost daily guests, but unfortunatelly every year quality was going downhill. Last time we ordered grilled calamari and got very very dry dish...like chewing through a leather. After sending it back, new portion was uneatable as well. Waiter got anyway 15kun tip, but was not happy and didnt even say goodbye. Too bad...
