I usually eat here as i cannot get a dinner for 3 or a dinner for 4 at such a reasonable price. The owner and his wife have been at this location for just over a year. Denis is the owners name and he is very easy going. Usually very quiet and if your looking for fast service to get back on the road. It is worth it to take a 5 minute detour to eat here.
Plus "No MSG"!

Sometimes all you want is a familiar dish, served up with a side of friendship and comfort in a place you can call your own. This is the kind of place we strive to be, and we're proud to offer you a little piece of it. With a name like Home Restaurants, a real dedication to the ideals of true comfort and true quality is required to live up to our inherent promise - an authentic dining experience for every person who walks through our doors. Our vision is simple, we value above all, creating a 'Home' where our guests feel, relaxed, respected and refueled.
Stayed over night at a Day Inn
hotel and this diner was within walking distance. What a beautiful find. All home made favorites from meat loaf to liver & onions to home made array of pies! Price was also very reasonable and was their portions. Service was very friendly. The next time were are enroute from Alberta to Vancouver, this place will be our go to place for a good meal.

Yaki Joe's Pizza is locally owned and independently operated by Sonya and Bobby Garcia. When they took over Yaki Joe's in 2007, they made inviting changes to decor and extensive changes to menu, including fresh and homemade. But those are only 2 of the elements that make Yaki Joe's in Merritt stand alone in the Pizza making business. Recommended for its extraordinary pizzas, Yaki Joe's is also being recognized for its excellence in food quality and taste. No matter what you're ordering off their menu, fresh is the order of the day, and handmade is the must, right down to the washing and slicing of vegetables, cooking and slicing of meats, and grating of cheeses. There's nothing "packaged" about this restaurant and there's no scrimping with ingredients or on portion sizes. Bobby and Sonya know that if they compromise with the ingredients they put the integrity of the recipe at risk and jeopardize the satisfaction of the customer - and that's why Yaki Joe's fan base has been steadily growing yearly. Our pizza and calzone menu is extensive, our 11 tasty varieties of wings are "the best" as our regular friends and customers tell us, and our pasta sauce is a family recipe that Sonya has honed to lip-smacking perfection. If you want something lighter but still heavy on taste, try a wrap or donair and a salad. Our fresh ingredients ensure that everything is ripe with flavour.

Located on the 'main' street east-west through town where several motels for travellers are...
I've been going here on and off for years. The standard is met every time. In of all places who knew Merritt BC is literally home to the best sushi in the province. Prices are sort of high but it's definitely worth. From first dates, to anniversaries or dinner with friends you can't go wrong at this place. If you're passing through on your way to somewhere, do yourself a favour a take a pit stop here. Happy eating.

We are your Hometown Hospitality Specialists offering casual dining with a "Cheers" style. We are good food, not fast food especially on premium specialty days when our famous features are offered - Thursday nights & Sunday mornings, in particular. Our atmosphere is turn of the century pioneer, where you can watch all your fav'rit sports on our many tv's. Children are welcome with their parents or guardians. We offer a full food menu complimented by a huge back bar featuring cocktails, mocktails, large wine selection, 6 taps of draft and a large selection of beers, ciders & coolers. Kitchen closes Sunday at 9. Friday at 11 pm and all other days at 10 pm. We also cater lunches, dinners, meetings & banquets of all styles and will design a menu to your liking. We are told that portions are ample and the prices are in line. So we welcome you and hope you enjoy your experience. If you don't, the management welcomes your comments at your earliest convenience.
The Grand Pub & Grill was exactly what I'd hoped it would be. Located off the main thoroughfare in Merritt, the location was easy to find and parking was readily available. The ambiance inside was great: cool bartender, sports memorabilia, community photos, sports on every TV, and locals. I went with a local beer from Penticton and one of my all-time favorite "easy to make" dinners: hamburger steak with mashed potatoes & gravy. As hungry as I was, everything sounded good, but I was swayed by the lean ground beef and hand-formed patties. I used the time before my meal to admire some of the old black & white photos adorning the walls and the bartender not only came by to chitchat, but filled me in on the history behind the pictures- very cool.
When my meal arrived, I was happy to see that my salad greens were fresh and crisp, my mashed-potatoes had been recently prepared (and not from a box!), and my hamburger steak was perfectly cooked. Portions were just right and I enjoyed every bit of my simple, but well-executed meal. Several of the staff and some of the locals invited me out for karaoke afterward, but with a head cold and an early morning the next day I had to pass. I paid the bill and headed to my hotel for the night a happy camper. I'm looking forward to my next trip through Merritt already; we'll see what kind of pipes they're working with! :)

Great flavourful food at a decent price. I had a half veggie Sandwich bursting with yummy chutney, roasted peppers, and spinach. The dessert is very tasty as well. Perfect for lunch!Thank you - so glad you liked it. We make the chutney ourselves!

We went for breakfast this morning. I had an omelet and my wife had bacon and eggs.
The portions were good, the food was hot and the service was prompt.
We would recommend the restaurant to those passing through Lower Nicola.
The big problem we had was where TripAdvisor locates this restaurant on their map. The TripAdvisor map shows this restaurant IN Merritt on the east side of town. This is not correct! To find this restaurant you travel WEST out of Merritt into Lower Nicola. It is just west of the 'Courtesy Corner' intersection. This really needs to be fixed on TripAdvisor's map as it is not fair to the restaurant or users of TripAdvisor.
