Ate here on a recent trip to Veradero. My friend and I went to this restaurant hoping to get an unforgettable Fondu experience and sure got it! We ordered Lobster and bread/cheese fondu as an appetizer and one beer and one water. The beverage items came after about 10 min which we didn't really mind because we were watching the beautiful cars drive down the strip. The appetizers took another 10 min and were quite nicely presented and tasted great. Then... our server never came back. He actually never came back for over an hour and a half. We ended up asking the server for the table beside us to send our server. He said he did, however he never came back. I then went inside the restaurant to ask the hostess for our server. She also said she would send him out. After another 10-15 min wait we were quite frustrated and angry. I went back and asked for the manager. I was upset and demanded the bill stating that I was NOT waiting any longer to order mains and that we simply wanted to go. The manager actually rudely waived us off saying if we wished to leave "just go!" We then left but due to all of the time that took up, we missed the double decker bus and had to take a taxi back to our hotel. What a disappointment on our last night out in Veradero.

mandy is an affable host, and we had a fantastic meal but all was lost when we noticed how unclean the kitchen and bathroom were. . .seeing cockroaches in the toilet area and on the food-preparation counter, and the numerous bugs in the bathroom were enough to sink our estimation of this casa. location is not terribly convenient to the city core, and not walkable to the playas east of the city. cannot recommend this place.

The food was excellent and portions much larger than expected based on menu prices. Despite having a lunch reservation the wait staff seemed overwhelmed by the large group (16 people) - tables not set up when we arrived, need to share menus. Would definitely return if in Matanzas but not in a large group.

This was one of the best meals we had on our whole trip in Cuba. We had a whole grilled fish that was shared among 5 people and was truly spectacular. The view is beautiful and the people that work there were great as well....MoreDear, Dctrubin, Thank you for your opinion, we like to know that everyone was satisfied. That is precisely our purpose. When you like, we are waiting for you with pleasure. See you soon!

We are open the whole week, save Wednesdays, we are waiting for you to have a nice stay in our Restaurant. We open at 12:00 p.M. Till late in the night, close when last customer leaves the Restaurant. Bookings may be done at phone number of the Restaurant. A nice look from our colonial balcony is waiting for you. We have a good decoration of our place, we have kept all the traditions and colonial architecture of the place. You'll feel as being back in time, when Cuba was a colony of Spain.
Recommended highly by the casa we stayed in, this restaurant was close by and a gem. The menu, the food, the drinks and the service were excellent as was the atmosphere. Reservations are helpful as is eating early to beat the crowd, especially if balcony dining is your choice for this romantic restaurant. Check it out ... I think you will like it.

We fell in love with El Bukan some time ago, and when we decided to go back to Matanzas we started dreaming about returning to El Bukan. It is not fabulously decorated or particularly lavish, but it is warm, delicious, clean, and the overall experience is delightful. Somehow it is romantic and charming. The prices are good in the sense that one can find inexpensive selections if needed. I think the soups are $1. Soft drinks are also reasonable. The main dishes are very large, so we usually split them. Also, we had the feeling that the food handling practises were much superior than most places in Cuba. They have a window on one side where you can watch them preparing the food. The restaurant is upstairs and I don't think it is handicap accessible. There is usually a long line to get in. The view from the tables near the windows is over the bay of Matanzas, lovely at night.

Excellent friendly staff and great service, this was good value food very popular with the local Cubans. Pasta and pizza were plentiful as well as more traditional pork, chicken and fish dishes. Four or five house specials like squid, beef and lobster were also availble. A large variety of cocktails and drinks including wine were all reasonably priced. Plantain tacos with tuna and cheese were a large starter, and the grilled fish main was excellent with black rice and a fresh seasonal salad, With Buccaneros it was less than 15 cuc. Definitely good value and a pleasant air conditioned resaturant with a rooftop teraace for smokers. Like most Cuban places local artwork was in abundance and a talented local singer with guitar pleasantly entertained, unobtrusively throughout the night. Well worth a visit

Lovely little restaurant with only 3 tables that offers good value food. Lovely fresh pasta and delightful staff. We ate here twice and only negative is that the food was not hot enough on each occasion. Best to order freshly cooked pasta rather than a lasagne that is reheated. Advisable to book as wait can be lengthy.

This club is in the backyard of a local house. The facilities in back are surrounded by trees and shrubs so it is cooler and inviting. We went for a mojito and to listen to a local youth band play. Excellent music and great environment to spend an afternoon. There is also a full menu of food available.
