Sunshine Coast in December. What’s not to like? Warm nights, ocean air, palms swaying, easy strolls to local restaurants where you can polish off your own wine.... but beware the holiday romance and beware the equally dangerous holiday restaurant reviewer.
Is this Thai better than your average Westfield food court offering? Probably. Is it better than your average surf club Thai blackboard special curry? Maybe. Is it remarkable Thai food worth the poor service, flourescent outside lights and plastic tablecloths? Nooooo!
Good reviews from holiday brains I get but good reviews from locals? You need to get out more!

Amazing food.. great service and a great view.. loved it. Quite expensive, but very worth the cost.. Would be a celebration meal for us but very likely to return.. Especially on a Barmy Queensland evening watching the sun go down. Perfect spot ??

Asian Cuisine
After a full day of diving and heading home we were looking for something for dinner but not to heavy. The curry puffs for entree were fantastic and the seafood salad was amazing. Staff freindly and quick, the waitress could see we were local and eating on the move, our food was well prepared and very fast to the table. We will eat here again for sure.

our usual lunch places at Cotton Tree had changed hands so we were pleased to discover Ba Vigo. Eating has it's challenges with a two year old in tow, so we appreciated the colouring in supplies and the quick provision of some bread as distractions. As the tapas plates arrived, each one surpassed the previous one. I didn't taste the anchovies, but it was totally devoured by the others. I reckon you can tell the quality of a Spanish restaurant by the chorizo, and theirs was really delicious! The staff were friendly and by the time we'd indulged in an affogato, we congratulated ourselves for finding the perfect lunch!

first tip is try and book ahead and get a table outside for a group or at least one with a view. Lovely restaurant with well versed staff knowing the ins and outs of the menu. have been before and this time went for a slightly smaller degustation menu as only 2 of us. My favourite betel leaf was still on menu as were the delicious scallops. All in all a lovely way to spend an evening tasting morsels of great dishes finished with finesse and experience rather than a meal. To be honest by the end of eating i wouldn't have cared less about a view, but it a nice way to start with drinks. Also has a sit up bar.
Will go again.

I’ve been here many times over the years.
The food is been between great and good every time.
Customer service is great but not excellent. Sometimes left waiting too long for table service.
The buffet is great value with a good range of options.
But the real delight still remains in the menu ordered selections.

1st floor -Beachfront Towers Osvaldo and Rita welcome you to Cala Luna meaning Moon Bay. We want to share with you our joint families' regional cooking. Osvaldo from the Island of Sardegna and Rita's family from Veneto and Friuli. We look forward to making your evening with us an enjoyable one. Grazie e Buon Appetito
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience dining at Cala Luna. The service was impeccable, the seafood was local and delicious and their range of meals was extensive. We had the Moreton Bay Bug and Veal Scallopini. Both meals were good size and full of flavour.
Would definitely come back again if I was in the area.

Where do the locals go in Mooloolaba for breakfast? Well I can tell you a fair few go to 'The Velo Project' and for good reason...
Tucked a few streets away from the Esplanade this funky local treat is one of the best cafe's to have a healthy clean breakfast in Mooloolaba. You know its good if the locals eat there! This place has a real 'paddock to plate' feel about it.
We ordered the 'Twisted Sister' and the 'Wild at heart' breakfast dishes. Drinks we had a Double Piccolo, weak Latte and later we took away a Detox juice on our way out.
Meals were well portioned, well presented and extremely tasty. Coffee's were the best we had in Mooloolaba. Everything was well priced and staff were excellent.
Will definitely go back and strongly recommend. 5 stars.

We visited The Piano Bar on Thursday night for their French theme night. We chose the degustation menu and enjoyed every course that was brought out. The entertainment that accompanied dinner was brilliant and made for a perfect evening. The French theme night is highly recommended but it will eventually be replaced by theme nights such as Spanish and Greek which we will be sure not to miss
