On a very hot afternoon, we found shelter in the air-conditioned room of this place, hungry, hoping for good, greek food. And we were very glad because from the variety of the dishes, displayed right in front of us, most of them proved to be very tasty.
For sure this place, in terms of food, is pretty satisfying but unfortunately we will never return due to the owner who was unbelievably rude.
Someone must tell him that there are ways to learn him how to be polite with his customers and with his staff!

Paradisi is a very small village on the opposite side of the main highway
going to Marmari. We had lunch at the restaurant called ‘Platanos’ and I highly recommend it for its fresh and good quality food offered here.
However, it is good to ask for the legal receipt after you pay because we were not given a receipt at first and we had to demand it. It was just a paper with the amount of each item we ordered.
The food though, was tasty and the lamp chops I chose were the best quality I had ever had, and the green bean salad was exceptional. Shepherds keep goats and lambs in the area and these animals are known all over the country for their delicious meat.
I found the portion of chops adequate and very cheap as I paid only 8 euro for it. The green bean salad cost us 5 euro, bread 2 and a bottle of water cost 1.50. Half a kilo of red carafe wine (home made product of excellent quality) for just 2 euro, and tiropitari, -the local cheese pie cost us 5 euro. We paid 22.50 for all these.
It is the 3rd generation of this family’s business I was told from the old grandfather named Yiorgos (Yiovannis his nickname) known all over the place, and the people working here are professionals. They are mostly family members, open-hearted people who care a lot for the prestige of the restaurant and its good name. The restaurant was opened in 1893 by Mr. Yiorgos grandfather.
The service was outstanding and everything was served on time. There was a group of 50 people and nobody complained either about the service or the quality. The people in the group were so happy that they started dancing when lunch was over. Dancing is a Greek habit after lunch or dinner on an outing in the country.
Platanos restaurant is on the road so there is no way that you will miss it.

Wr went to this place by night! Twice! With the baby and friends! It was very nice and calm after a large walk with the stroller! The place was spacious enough to have the stroller with you! The service was great! The seats were very comfortable and cozy! We had sangria and chocolate soufflé! Both were great!

A tavern in Ano Aetos, Karistos, with panoramic view of the Aegean Sea that serves traditional Greek dishes.
Fantastic views from the restaurant of the sea and Karystos bay. The food and service is excellent - local produce and wine. An ideal restaurant to celebrate a special occasion or just general dining out. The restaurant is situated a short distance from Karystos in Upper Aetos. Well worth a visit.

It appears as a nice taverna but we were dissatisfied. We expected to eat fresh shrips and we ordered them but they were defrosted although it was not mentioned in the menu. The sevice was below average and a person who appeared to run the place was shouting to an employee, spoiling what was left after the poor tasting shrimps.

We love this spot! The food is really good quality and always tasty. The perfect place after swimming. Home cut French fries, and calamari that is always well prepared in FRESH oil. The string beans, when in season, are devine and so is the pickled octopus and fish. Best 'Pastitio' (traditional macaroni/ground beef) in town! If you have time, meet the cook and you'll understand why the food is so good. She is a lovely refreshing lady who knows her way around the kitchen!

Difficult to maintain authentic quality with authentic prices. The attempt here is to bridge the gab with something somewhat touristic for the locals but with a very strong kitchen (excellent quality and variety) and a nice environment, with very friendly personnel. A bit overpriced but, overall, good value for money... It is worth a visit and to drink bottle of house wine

We went to Thalassa twice for dinner - it was only open at the weekend in early to mid June- but in each occasion we had a superb meal. What is on the menu depends on what is available but this was our selection over the two nights: tsatsiki, fried zucchini, octopus, calamari, sardines, pork. Each was very tasty and portions were a reasonable. Bill was very reasonable too- around €40 which included wine. If you get offered MIss PIttas home made lemon ice cream make sure you take it. Staff are lovely and it's all very casual.
